Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Galleria-Ballpark Area, an IHG Hotel

"I'd give it about 4.5 stars. Service was exceptional. The rooms, lobby, etc was very clean and welcoming. My only complaints are that the rooms were not as soundproof as I would have liked. Could hear someone tapping the walls (at least that's what it sounded like) for quite some time both nights we stayed. Also you could hear everything in the hallways from the room, people, doors opening/closing etc. (they weren't loud but the sound just came through the door almost as if the door was open). The mini fridge also had a high pitched ringing to it (most likely it was on its last legs I'm guessing). Anyway. I would definitely stay here again. I'm very happy with the stay. For the price I'm not upset at all and very pleased!!"

"I cannot imagine anyone giving this hotel less than 5 stars overall. The front desk staff and management are the definition of hospitality. We had a minor issue and the lady at the front desk and manager treated it as a much larger deal than we thought it was which was nice. They did right by us as soon as they were made aware. It’s obvious they want each guest to feel at home and have the best experience possible. They did their best to make sure we were completely satisfied. The room was very spacious and the layout is very practical. The room was well lit. The beds were very comfortable and had 2 different types of pillows, 2 thicker and 2 more on the thin and flat side so there is something for different preferences. We had a good night sleep each night due to the comfort of the bed, pillow, and sheets. The shower was one of the best showers I’ve had in any hotel. The shower head had a good amount of pressure and having a walk-in shower, we didn’t have to climb over a tub. We had a room without a tub, which we prefer, but if you need a tub, make sure you request a room with one when booking. Toilet seats were a little on the low side which didn’t bother me, but if elderly and not used to it, I thought I’d share. My mom is elderly and she had a difficult time with the toilet because she isn’t used to a low toilet. FYI to guests, they do have a blackout shade, but it wasn’t immediately visible because it opens completely. They had a wide variety of options for breakfast and it was a little different each day. I do recommend getting there on the earlier side to give you the most options. My suggestion is to arrive by 8:00 at the latest, even though breakfast technically ends at 9:30, I think. The earlier you go, the more is available from our experience. My only suggestion for the hotel besides keeping it all stocked until the end of breakfast is to add a plain yogurt as an option. There were two added little things the hotel did which we appreciated. One was the lime water by the front desk for guests. The other was stocked hand sanitizer in the lobby and in our hallway. The location is good, easy to find, close to the expressway, and convenient for parking. Our room was overall clean and they had both teas and coffee stocked in the room. Suggestion for the hotel would be to have room attendants pay extra attention to the areas in the room where guests touch often such as the handles to close the curtains, phone, TV remote, etc. the room was clean and well lit, but paying attention to those little things make it feel all the better."

"I never write reviews but I had to write a review about my experience here. My experience here was ok. My friends and I got a room at the hotel for the weekend. The area of the hotel was nice. However, there was a weird smell in the rooms and the bathtub wasn’t clean. As far as the service I will say that the best part of my experience was the food which was surprising. There was a sweet elderly lady, she reminds me of my grandma. She put her foot in those biscuits and gravy. She is a keeper. She was working all by herself and it was busy. Good service is hard to come by nowadays. It was such a delight to receive good service from her, which is what really made me want to write this review."

"***Still have yet to receive a call or email from the hotels Management*** Not a great experience but I feel this is specific to this hotel and not most holiday inn express hotels. Rooms were below average. Given a smoke room despite being non-smoking. Bugs in shower. Outlets not working. Shuttle they advertise and confirm prior to booking not available. Housekeeping can’t read signs and ties to come in early morning. Breakfast was great and most of the staff was super friendly."

"I was surprised on how well maintained the property is, when it’s principal use and season for utilization is when the baseball games are playing. In the lobby, there was only coffee at breakfast (regardless of other Holiday Inn’s having it available 24 hours-a-day). Breakfast found no milk products (truck didn't come in excuse), so nothing for the coffee, no cereal was put out; no yogurt. If they were customer-centric, they would have made a Costco run."
