Candlewood Suites Atlanta - Smyrna, an IHG Hotel

"Beautiful hotel. I stayed in two different rooms. Both excellent. Uncommonly good customer service! Carlos helped resolve a points problem I had. He even called me back to make sure I received the points refund! How refreshing! Thanks Carlos!"

"I came to this wonderfully tucked away hotel this past week for my 1-year anniversary. I really love a good suite. So the 1-bedroom King Suite w/living room and kitchen was an awesome choice. The process was easy and simple. The staff were nice and helpful as well for checking in and when I had like 2 questions. Great location for nearby malls and stores including The Battery. Helped me out a lot for activities and shopping for food to cook in the kitchen. It was quiet and peaceful. Fell asleep like a baby in the king size bed. Very comfortable and firm for my back. Yes, the room was clean, but I sanitized anyway cause I have a habit of it. While cleaning, I did notice the utensils did have spots on them. Not a bother for me cause again I clean anyway and used the dishwasher. All appliances were functional and working great. Free parking, private, nice staff, ease of access, near attractions without the loud noise of traffic, a room about the size of a one-bedroom apartment for two. I say this was an awesome trip and have no problem coming back to plan another staycation without hesitation."

"I travel 80% of the year and I’ve been staying at Candlewood Suites and IHG hotels for years. This is a new Candlewood Suites and the first thing I noticed after checking in was that this hotel has software and brackets on the back of the TV preventing us customers from using an Amazon Firestick, game counsels or any other streaming device you would plug into the HDMI ports on the back of the TV. I asked the front desk and they said “Yep, the new Candlewood Suites will all be like that”. I asked him why but he had no idea. Why would management deny their customers from streaming their favorite programs or relaxing with some gaming?!?! Makes no logical sense, there’s no damage to the TV by plugging a streaming device into the one of the four HDMI ports in the back of the TV. They just blocked the three unused HDMI ports. What’s next, a horn that goes off every fifteen minutes so we can’t sleep?!?! I hope they don’t change all the Candlewood Suites like this new one. I will never come back to this hotel. Next time I have to work in this area I will stay at the Kenneshaw Candlewood Suites. I’d rather drive 30 minutes out of my way if it means I can relax and enjoy my Amazon Firestick. All other IHG hotels let us use streaming devices. As a business traveler who almost lives out of hotels, all I ask for is a clean room, reliable WiFi and the ability to use my Firestick! This hotel chain is supposed to be an extended stay hotel, you would think they would want us to feel at home while traveling longer than most travelers. I won't be back."

"Overall, it was a good experience at this hotel. There were just a few little things that negatively impacted my overall experience. (I'm slightly picky and notice the little things, so if you're like me this review will be helpful). Pros: The hotel is pretty new, so the lobby looked updated, clean and smelled nice. There were complimentary laundry services and hot beverages on the 1st floor. The room was large with a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave and plenty of cutlery, plates and glasses. There were even pots and pans for cooking on the stovetop. There was also a full size ironing board and iron in the closet. A good option for a longer stay because there's lot of closet space. (if you're the type to unpack) Cons: The dishwasher had a weird, stale smell coming from it, which discouraged me from using it. The dishwashers should be run on a deep clean or regular wash setting on a schedule to keep them smelling nice. There was a coffee bag left in the coffee machine. I wish it had been discarded by the cleaning attendant especially since the rooms are only cleaned on a weekly basis. There was also someone's personal body care product left behind in the bathroom. The floors in the bathroom were not thoroughly cleaned. I would have liked another seating option in the room like an armchair or small couch since there was so much floor space. I think attention to detail is what sets apart a good experience from a great experience. Of course, this isn't a luxurious hotel, so my expectations weren't super high, but still, the stay could have been made more comfortable for guests. There were a bunch of fast food options nearby, including Chik-fil-a and it's a twenty minute drive to Buckhead. Overall, if you're visiting Atlanta, I would recommend this hotel if you need the space and you want to stay away from the downtown area."

"Rooms are great for the price. Staff is very helpful. I just got strange smell in hallways but because they have kitchen in the rooms may be someone cooked something on that day."
