"This was truly the worst apartment / living situation I could imagine. I moved in and within a week I noticed a significant amount of small, roach like bugs in my apartment. I had to put in 4 work orders before they had professional pest control come and spray. It did not help and I requested additional services. It took 13 days before I heard back from management. I sent daily emails and phone calls with no response. Brandon (assistant manager) is rude, sexist, and unhelpful. I requested follow up communication multiple times and never received it. I ultimately PAID to end my lease early due to the TERRIBLE management and INFESTATION of bugs in my apartment. I know the location is great, but I PROMISE YOU, it is not worth it. I would never recommend anyone to live at Selwyn Flats."

"Although on the cheaper side, still not worth the price to deal with unnecessary maintenance issues that don’t get fixed, ie: extreme amounts of waterbugs, non working AC units , the pool in my area was NOT USABLE at all during the entire summer it remained green and disgusting, the washer dryer units take 3 days to do one load … etc just not worth it. Very disappointed because the neighborhood is beautiful"

"I've lived here for over a year. The AC/Heating is amazing, if I turn it on I'm comfortable within 5 minutes. I recently put in maintenence requests and it was all fixed in 2 days. My one complaint was the promised pool being unavailable for much of the Summer, but they ended up getting it fixed. Mail being delivered to your door is great. I don't use valet trash because the compactor is so close, but it's a great option. I stream on twitch and the mandatory internet package is enough to stream comfortably."

"Selwyn Flats is cheap, but that's the only good thing about the complex. Management is terrible, the pool outside my building is probably a health hazard. It's filled with rain water, dirt, debri, and a breeding ground for frogs. As far as management: Brandon, the assistant leasing manager hit my car with a UHaul when he was moving in. Instead of handling in a professional way/through his insurance, he blocked my number and I had to go through UHaul to get it fixed. Luckily, I had plenty of witnesses and letters, so the issue was handled, but Brandon and the entire leasing office handled the situation very unprofessionally. I would pick literally anywhere else to live in Charlotte."

"Maintenance contacted me back immediately, and met me at the designated time that we discussed. Let himself out after fixing the issue, while I was at work, and even left me a washer and dryer manual, because I was having trouble with some of the settings. Very pleased!"
