"One star is generous. They don't answer the phones. Take forever respond to maintenance requests (if ever). They moved a dumpster into our parking lot and now there is trash all over that they don't clean up. Apartments are old and not taken care of. Been here for 2 1/2 years and the last year with new management has been TERRIBLE! 1/7/24 - UPDATE: I wish I had a good update but it has continued to be awful. The power in half of our apartheid been out for 2 weeks. Took a week for maintenance to come. They did NOTHING but moved things around. Not even a notice they had come. They closed the request as of they fixed it. Still no power! We've made numerous maintenance requests regarding our hot water heater making a knocking sound and they keep just closing them. Our dryer doesn't dry clothes and again they keep coming out and closing request without fixing. Not to mention for at least 3 weeks there has been 5-9 shopping carts on sidewalks/parking spots and trash everywhere. Mysteriously our sewer fcharges have at least doubled the last 2 plus months. Can't wait for our lease to expire. Save yourself the wasted $$ on things you pay for and don't have due to great negligence on the part of this horrible management."
"moved in September 2023 and have been dealing with a consistent amount of maintenance issues since moving in. upon move in, all the windows were duck taped shut. this issue was not resolved until representatives from the leasing office came and removed the tape and cleaned the windows. next, the washer and dryer did not work and it took weeks to resolve. then at the start of winter, we had no heat and were told nonsense by the leasing office regarding how to use the heater. turns out the entire unit needed to be replaced and we were without heat for almost a week. currently, we have no hot water and no water at all in the unit due to a defective water heater. we were told a replacement unit has been ordered and would be installed soon, but there has been no remedy for the fact that I do not have access to water. please do not move to this community - it is not worth the headache."
"I was approved for an apartment here & it was a "Nightmare"! My move in date was 11/16/23. The Property Manager didn't even know I was due to move in this day. The apartment was disgusting (Not Renovated at all) not ready for move in at all. They also kept my fees although the reason I didn't move in was because the apartment wasn't ready on the date I was due to move in or what I applied for. Very good area to live in however, I would not recommend this place. When the manager asked would I move in for lower monthly rent I replied I wouldn't live here for free!"
"I lived at The Brook for a year and I can confidently say I would not recommend this place to anybody. First of all they began renovations while we lived there which was fine, except for the numerous dumpsters that they brought in and left in the parking lots. Residents leave trash EVERYWHERE. I would often see bottles of pee... dirty diapers, food waste, and much more strewn all over the complex. Residents drove recklessly despite multiple children living in the complex. Cockroaches the size of my palm began crawling into my unit towards the end of my stay which was the final straw for me. The unit we moved into had old makeup smeared all over both bathroom cabinets. There was mold lining both bathtubs which they just caulked over but the caulk started to flake off revealing more and more mold. I witnessed multiple drug deals from our neighbors and frequently did not feel safe walking to my car alone when I had early morning shifts at my job. Oh, and a rat crawled into my stove and left rat poop in the actual stove and on top of it and chewed the wires so only 2 burners worked and maintenance came in, looked at the stove, and said it was "fixed"... even though the burners still did not work. Personally, I feel like an oven with the wires chewed and RAT POOP inside would warrant a replacement oven but to each their own I guess..."
"I have been a resident of The Brook Apartment homes since early in 2021. Since the new management (Lincoln Property Management) acquired the property in August of 2022, we have experienced numerous serious issues. Over the last year, the office staff have NEVER answered the phone or returned a voicemail. Maintenace requests (including emergency maintenance such as leaks and Charlotte/Pineville housing code violations) take an incredibly long time to be addressed. Waste and trash around the property is a constant issue, especially around the dumpster located in the parking lot. There has also been an increase in vagrancy and criminal activity around the property (car theft, car break ins, a man living in above mentioned dumpster). Addressing concerns with the leasing staff feels pointless because it changes very little. The pictures below are a sample of the upkeep of the property."
