"I love living here at Cortland Seventy-seven. The best apartment complex I've lived at so far. They take pride in the property, management and the staff is very friendly and always there to help. Whenever, I have a maintenance request it always get completed almost immediately, the same day. Another reason I love living here is that they appreciate the residents that live here as well by having activities and social gatherings for us at least once a month, if not, for sure on holidays. We have a very nice pool area with a fitness center, and social room with tea and coffee bar. I just wish we had a computer center that would really be nice but overall, it's a great place to live."
"Current Resident Review as of 2/8/24 Courtland 77 is a great starting apartment space. The residence is safe and for the most part clean. The management (Nacy is the best) and facilities staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Residents are a healthy mix of backgrounds and living styles. People report of bugs, this is true any city I have ever lived in. I find the main issues are more of the residents and conditions of the buildings. Pros Great location to Airport, Mall and Up Town Friendly Staff Maintenance is quick to respond, see below for more information. Decently sized Dog Park Nice sized space for the price* Safe area inside of complex Car Washing Area Cons Residents breaking rules, not picking up dog poop (there is a lot of this), blocking the gated access waiting for school buses (every day). Residents (and guests) breaking entry gates allowing cars to be more easily broken into. Surrounding area can be seen as dangerous to walk around at night. Buildings are showing their age, windows don’t open screens don’t open or are missing. Repairs are not always resolved fully on the first call (Excuses are made regarding the buildings age). Apartment smelled bad upon moving into, visible patching in the walls, and paint splatter on the floor. No Amazon Lock Boxes (Office is closed on Sundays) Very few sidewalks’ cars will speed by you. Fees – You Pay for a lot of useless fees. Recommendations to Management or future tenants where apply. Cameras, at gates and common areas (dog relief, car washing station, dumpster, main roads through the complex etc.) . Sidewalks Dogs are not always registered with the complex, be wary approaching other people’s dogs. Many people will let their kids wander, block entrances with cars. There are car break ins as reported by other reviews this happens any where in any city and would be curbed with a better gated system."
"Hands down a great community in south Charlotte area! Close to the interstate and commute into downtown is a breeze. The process of from tour to move in was smooth thanks to Loretta and the leasing team. She was so helpful and patient with all my questions. Maintenance did a fantastic job with my apartment and the maintenance supervisor Ryan help me to understand the smart thermostat and making sure my apartment was to my standards. I’m looking forward to my new home and community!"
"This has been probably the worst apartments I have ever stayed at in Charlotte. Never in my entire life have I stayed in an apartment where the quality didn’t match the price, or there were roaches. Definitely believe all the reviews which I should have done before staying here, about the cleanliness, the roach infestation, and more. No one should be paying $1,400 or even more to stay in these conditions. First of these are not luxury apartments that offer numerous amenities like they say they offer. The apartment’s front office doesn’t even have a guest computer or printing station for use, so you have to send the front office documents to print out for you which can be a privacy issue, and hassle. The apartments don’t have a mail hub for package delivery so that means your package will either be delivered to the office or at your front door at the risk of people stealing your packages or your packages go missing. I saw one guy come in on Saturday well before closing time and get turned away from help as the office assistant said to wait until Monday because he didn’t feel like looking into package requests that day. Terrible customer service! For the apartment mailbox, Cortland Seventy Seven didn’t even bother clearing old mail from other residents out the mail box before we moved in, or cleaning the apartment fully before move in as my boyfriend had to contact the apartments that the refrigerator was not throughly cleaned and there were bugs in the apartment after touring the apartment we were about to move into. I think my last straw with staying in the apartments was seeing a roach onto my bed or pillow GROSS and I never had to yell at an apartment complex for these issues, even student apartments in University City have better quality and living conditions. These roaches are not your average sized roaches they are HUGE! They have an exterminator on call every Thursday which really doesn’t help and if you have to have that on call then you know there’s major complaints with infestation from residents. Also Cortland Charges YOU for their extermination services on move out. After numerous times you complain about living conditions, you don’t get rent off or no alternatives to compensation, NOTHING. Also my last straw was Cortland not taking the water leak bottom tenants experienced seriously from an upstairs leak, even though as much water that was trapped in the walls, can cause MOLD. They acted like it was no big deal and that they would paint over water stains, HUH? Luckily my lease was only temporary and 3 months here. Watch out for charges after move out, as they put the move out day on Sunday purposely, and tried to charge us for staying Monday, even though we moved out way in advance. We were smart enough to know the office is closed on Sunday so why would move out day or the last day be on Sunday? Definitely a trick. They fixed the issue but it took a month as they said they couldn’t fix the issue because the person that was only able to look into and fix it was on vacation, what? Then eventually he left so another person ending up fixing the issues after numerous of tries. I think these apartments took a toll on my mental health as I was stressed and worried in unsafe living conditions. These are definitely not the luxury or nice apartments they set out to be, and not worth the price. I honestly and truthfully think the Public Health Department needs to take a look into these apartments or the price should be lower because the price for these apartments is absurd. I also think any good reviews on here are fake for Amazon gift cards."
"This is one of the mostly friendly , welcoming and understanding communities I have lived in special Thanks to Nancy and the community manager Lorretta. I have been living here for almost 2 Years and from Front desk all the way to management and maintenance are all great and Helpful and their response is quick. The residents are really looked after by the management, leasing staff, and the maintenance team. The landscaping is kept clean and beautiful. This is a very classy and friendly place to live in and it is in an excellent location."
