"Urine smell in room 517. Not clean with messy lampshade and kitchen. No extra rooms had to leave. Almost didn’t get refund."

"The hotel was in a great location. We were staying here in between homes during our move and it was definitely a great place to stay! The room was clean, spacious, well stocked, etc. We stayed in the 1-bedroom suite which had a nice little kitchen, living room and bedroom w/bathroom. The continental breakfast each morning was great and had a variety of good food! A few minor issues: -There was a light on the fire alarm in the bedroom that flashed intermittently all night. It was extremely bright and made falling asleep quite difficult. With two little kids this was not ideal and I have never seen a fire alarm that flashed like that. -The restaurant was medicore at best. The bartender charged an exorbitant amount for drinks and told us it was because he didn't have ingredients for almost all of the drinks on the drink menu he offered us. We got a cosmo and an old fashioned - he charged us for liquor then "doubles" of each and for two drinks it was $48 + tip! They weren't even made correctly! Drinks aren't even that expensive in uptown! The food was nothing special at all. The steak on my caesar salad that I ordered "medium" was definitely well done. The cheese dip with the soft pretzel was like a bowl of grease and the seasonal vegetable (asparagus) came out with so much pepper on it that it was inedible - especially for the baby we had ordered it for. Overall I would stay at the hotel again but would definitely not dine/drink in the 4808 restaurant!"

"Regular vehicle break-ins, with neglectful lack of security for parking. I have stayed all over Charlotte for work, and used to live here. South Park is generally a nice part of Charlotte to stay in and visit. Unfortunately my last night staying here resulted in a break in of multiple vehicles on the top (2nd) floor parking deck. After speaking to CMPD and their CSI who came to process my truck, they informed me that this is a hot spot for vehicle break ins and theft due to the fact there are no security deterrents (no key card access, no gates, no cameras, etc). A broken window and $3k worth of belongings were lost. This was only the icing on the cake though after a week of pool parties well into the morning hours every night. The hotel itself is nice. My room was nice, and so was the staff. But that won't cover a clear neglect for the safety of vehicles, and people, staying there overnight. Edit/Reply: The hotel staff got me a drink and a snack while I waited for CMPD to process my truck. No compensation, no credit for my stay, and no changes to their parking security. If that's above and beyond..."

"DO NOT stay at this hotel. This was an awful experience. The rooms are so run down with broken window shades, sofa cushions ripped and the stuffings falling out, no hot water in the shower, door safety lock was broken so no way to secure your door at night. The sofa stunk. You had to put a towel down on the cushion just to sit on it! This was ALL reported to the front desk person and completely ignored. The exterior of the hotel was NASTY. Gross food left out for days and never cleaned up. Cigarette butts lying around and never cleaned up. It's really too bad the hotel is so bad, because the location is exceptional."

"This is my second visit this summer to this location. Each time I've enjoyed the amenities, location and staff interaction at this hotel. During this visit, JB was was warm , knowledgeable and helped me check in to my room. The only downfall is my room wasn't in pristine condition. There were long hairs on the floor and it probably wasn't swept or mopped. But overall, I enjoy my visits here."
