"Date of posting: October 30, 2023 Have been renting here since 2018. Single mom of two teens. We're quiet and keep to ourselves. Have made 11 calls to the police since February for noise from upstairs neighbors and have complained to upper management so many times. There must be 6+ students from out of the country living above us. Management has done nothing to help the situation and 1/2 hour after I sent my last complaint email (October 23, 2023), I received a notice that they are raising my rent in February by $500.00. Hmmm makes you think. I will say that maintenance is amazing. The tenants upstairs have flooded my apartment twice and maintenance was right on it along with every other ticket I put in since I've been here. They are the saving grace to this community. You can't find that anywhere. Update... I've since been forced to sign another lease with less rent so that I can afford to have a roof over my kids and today I received an email from Tiaja in the office stating that she was just seeing my email (November 1st) and would be able to move me to another unit for less than what I'm paying now in rent. Convenient ey!! I hope the next tenants who move in will be able to tolerate the noise. I know that my kids and I have endured endless nights of sleeplessness and extensive lack of peace in our "home". Update...11/2/23 Received a letter noting that my last day at the complex is 11/30/23 and it came along with an EXTENSIVE list of to do's (Move-out Preparation Sheet). Included a line that said "Contact BGE to remove service from your name on 2/15/24." Ummm... why am I paying for BGE for two extra months? Not happening. I can't afford my rent let alone two extra months so someone else can enjoy me paying for their BGE. As per the managements response to my review... they never worked towards a resolution. Their "resolution" was to get a tenant who's been here since 2018 and who has taken very good care of their unit to move out so that they wouldn't have to hear about complaints concerning the students who live here. To the next tenants... I'll save you some steps... management doesn't care... the housing commission doesn't care...student affairs won't be able to do anything. Best of luck."
"I love my apartment because it has a lot of charm and it is comfortable and cozy. There is a wide variety of tenants who vary in age, race and ethnicity which makes for a wonderful community. There is a walking path close by as well as shops, schools and entertainment."
"Worst Apartment Experience. Please do not take this apartment if possible. The management is racist and rude. Especially, they don't treat you well once you leave the apartment. We faced pests issues all year long. The houses are full of mice and they don't even care to remove or eliminate them. And worst of all, they don't return the security deposit. They'll find some or the other way to consume your money. They did with our too and gave silly reasons that the room had foul smell. Which is totally insane."
"Don’t move here. They have mice and roaches. Ontop Of that the apartments are outdated. They tell you that your getting a renovated apartment and it’s still outdated. Very small bathroom that has a old sink and mirror in it . The floor plans don’t include garbage disposals, dishwashers or washer/dryer units but each year they are increasing rent prices don’t reflect the lack of basic appliances they have to offer. Then try and tell you they are keeping up with market prices. Be prepared for your rent to increase significantly yearly. For an example my rent increased $300 with no warning and no unit updates. College kids are very loud. The laundry units are dirty."
"Do not move here unless you have to. I understand rent is insane. I don't recommend this place because they don't care. I moved from out of state and paid extra rent for a renovated kitchen. That renovated kitchen had pushed up counter tops, paint all over the tops and floor. Our bathtub backed up at least once a month. So be prepared to clean you bath tub a lot. The hot water takes a minimum of 10 mins to heat up. Your hot water will burn you when you shower. I was burned multiple times. Then on your window seals you will have mold. You may also have bugs like we did because windows are not sealed properly. Water damage painted over. As for the community, your neighbors are not welcoming or polite. They will use every washer and dryer in the laundry rooms and then leave those clothes all weekend. The laundry rooms will also be dirty. Leasing does not do anything about these items. Your neighbors will also take up multiple parking spots with thier cars. Parking their commercial cars in the lot taking up 3 spaces. Some even park on the grass. Leasing does nothing about that either. Then Leasing also does not follow contact preferences. I work nights and cannot be reached via phone. They still only call. Also when you move out they send your deposit to where ever you were living before. So they sent mine to a house in Denver I moved from. I relocated to Maryland. That's why I lived in this place to start. So when you move out give them your new address otherwise you won't get your check in a reasonable time. All that said. Don't move here. They don't care and are a poor reflection of Maryland. Take it from an out of towner, this apartment complex made me want to move back to Colorado. Please look at the pictures I have attached."
