"My wife and I stayed here twice in the past 6 years. This third visit was nothing like the previous two. The changes in management are especially noticeable in the level of guest service that is lacking. They used to be worth the price but not now. It is no longer the go to spot in Fells Point."
"We always stay at the Admiral Fell when visiting relatives in Baltimore and my wife loves the place. I just wish indoor parking wasn't as costly and I keep hoping that the bathroom vanity and shower fixtures will be updated. Yeah, they're quaint, but I'd prefer function over period correctness. Tip: We bring along a $99 mini-Keurig and our own pods. The coffee furnished is OK for medicinal purposes."
"Brilliant hotel, rated number 1 in the US in 2018. Very up market. Great setting with great views over the harbour. Restaurant is incredible and bar is very up market. Great range of drinks with very friendly staff who look after you incredibly well. Well worth the trip if you are in the area"
"I had a beautiful wedding on the Bond Street Pier (which is contracted by HMH and more specifically, The Admiral Fells Inn) on September 14th, 2018, however, it was only beautiful because my wedding planner was able to fix all the screw ups that Harbor Magic (HM) presented us with the morning of and before. The lack of communication and inability to offer any sort of apology to me was appalling. After paying over $1800.00 to have a 30-minute ceremony on public property, I expect an apology for the multitude of issues that occurred during and prior to the wedding. First, our POC (Rob) with Harbor Magic stopped communicating with us. Our last correspondence was on June 8th via email. We were informed by an outside entity (our reception POC – which was a totally different company and restaurant) on August 21st that she had heard Rob no longer worked at HM and we were given the managers contact information to get another representative. When we confronted them with this issue after the fact, HM stated that the reception POC should have never gave us that information, however, we had NO COMMUNICATION until WE reached out to HM directly asking who would be assisting us more then a month after our last email with Rob and less than a month before my wedding. Secondly, we were informed that the grounds were maintained by Baltimore City and would be cut and cleaned prior to the ceremony, which they were not. Why am I paying HM over $1800.00 which includes a 22% service charge AND a 6% tax to use public property if they can’t even cut the grass? Third, we did our rehearsal outside on the pier the day before the wedding on a sunny day. HM is blaming me and my planner stating that they were waiting for us in the banquet room (which was a rain plan) for 90 minutes, however, neither my planner nor I received any calls or emails asking where we were if that was really the case and it was never mentioned to me or my planner prior to now. I would think that if you assumed we were having the rehearsal inside, that you’d contact either of us through one of the various communication options we’ve previously interacted through to say “hey, we’re all set up, are you coming? It’s been an hour and a half?”, however, we received no such calls or emails. My planner followed up with HM the night before the wedding and they stated that they had chosen to move the wedding to the banquet room earlier in the week. With that being said, WHY WERE WE NEVER INFORMED OF THIS AND WHY IS THAT YOUR DECISION TO MAKE? The wedding would have been a huge mess and ruined if I had not hired an outside wedding planner to fix everything. I offered HM an opportunity after the wedding to make things right or at the very least refund the additional $250.00 I paid HM to contract an outside sound equipment company for my ceremony to provide a generator and microphone (which 1 person at HM claims HM cancelled my sound equipment and another person at HM claims that the sound equipment company cancelled – we can’t seem to get a single straight story here either), but we can’t even get a simple apology from them. The problems listed here aren’t even scratching the surface, but I think everything reading this gets the gist."
"I would have rated this hotel (Pier 5) higher because I chose this Hilton hotel because it had a shuttle to Johns Hopkins Hospital where my husband was a patient for 5 days, Unfortunately , it did not go to the Bayview campus. I had to take a taxis both ways. The hotel is pleasant and quiet and in a very convenient spot in Fells Point. The staff is very helpful and courteous. One of the employees, Denise went above & beyond helping this elderly lady, help me to my room. (I was on a walker.) They provided a daily hot breakfast which was very good."
