"I'll be honest, I was pretty skeptical when I chose to live on base in 2020 and moved out in February of 2024, but the pros have FAR outweighed the cons. I was waiting for something bad to happen or some bad service from this company. But I had a wonderful experience from start to finish living in Aurora. The maintenance team is truly something special, they are quick to fix problems and any serious ones will get fixed the same day. They have a 24/7 service line, including holidays. The leasing office was always friendly and helpful. Even helping with my clearing when I wasn't able to clear housing before my final out. My final inspection was extremely pleasant. Minimal charges outside of the expected (unless you want to clean your trash cans, you're gonna get a 50$ charge), I'll happily accept that. On the downside of things, I lived in New Sunflower. The houses are very cheap and old. I could run a LONG list of things that broke. Washing machine, refrigerator, pipe leaking in the basement, heat going out in part of the house. But the maintenance made up for it by always being prompt and fixing things immediately. We had a new washer in less than 2 weeks. The self help center is pretty great too, ice melt bags twice a winter, new bulbs, and a lot more are completely free of charge. Overall, i'd recommend living on base and renting with Aurora. Some of neighborhoods are much nicer than others. I'd recommend anyone take a place in moose's crossing. But especially if you are below the rank of e-7, you aren't going to get a better bang for your buck."
"Aurora wouldn’t allow our terrier mix dog to live on JBER because he “looks like a pit bull”. The vet signed off on his paperwork that he is a terrier mix, but they decided they know more than the vet and chose to make us get rid of our beloved 13 year old dog that has lived on 2 other military installations with no issues. Then they took it a step further and made us sign paperwork that he is banned from the base just in case we try to sneak him in. I’ll be taking legal action. Thanks Aurora. Now I have to explain this to our 7 year old."
"Absolutely horrible experience. I have never had so many issues with a home as with Aurora. Our roof leaked and their “fix” was to cut holes in the ceilings and use buckets to catch the water. They came back and did a poor patch job without fixing the actual issue. They removed lights to prevent water ruining them and told us we needed a separate work order for them to reinstall the lights even though they removed them. Sinks leaking, garbage disposal leaking, constantly clogged showers and sinks, water line breaking and flooding the first floor with an awful patch job with no paint or sparkle and an electric socket burning up and nearly catching fire. We also had our camper parked in the driveway for less than 12 hours and they left a nasty notice on our door yet neighbors won’t shovel their driveway and get away with it. There’s no telling what sets them off or how they will handle something. A water line POURING water wasn’t an emergency to them and took days to fix with constant water coming out yet a camper being parked in the driveway needs moved immediately. I will NEVER recommend Aurora military housing to anyone. Hands down the worst experience in military housing I have EVER had."
"Ever since last year, living here has been nothing but ridiculous. First we moved in with the dishwasher not working. Found out the old tenant had a rodent infestation. And behind the dishwater was a whole nest not cleaned. All they did was get us a new dishwasher not even cleaning the old problem. Then we found mold all over our bathroom and bedrooms. I called to see if they could send someone out. Nope just told us we could buy pant to over it up… Then on Christmas Day 2022 our basement septic flooded and all they did was come and remove water. Saying that we had to clean the rest. And that this basement was not supposed to be used for storage. Well why have the washer and dryer down there is it is not to be used…. Then one of the workers who came out says it happens every year to sunflower houses. Well why not fix the problem so all my suitcases, totes and other personal stuff get ruined and I have a 1000 dollars worth of stuff to be thrown away. Along with no one following up with us. Sewage water is just disgusting why have tenants live in these houses if you know it happens every year. Fix the big problem. Or stop having tenants live in these houses till it’s fixed."
"I would NEVER live on base again after dealing with Aurora. They are absolutely horrendous. Every time we have an issue, they try to turn it around and blame it on us. Our washer has been broken twice, our dryer once, and our dishwater has had standing water and mold since we have lived here (over 2 years). If you want a decent house with a decent company, DO NOT live anywhere where this company is."
