"I wish there was a better way to add money to your laundry card. In the middle of winter you have to skate across the parking lot and I’ve fallen a few times because not every building has a way to add money to your card. Also, there are supposed to be fines for people misusing the trash amenities, but weekly there are people who throw out their furniture and leave bags of trash on the ground for animals to dig through. Finally, the parking lot is shaped like a bowl, so yearly, during the snow melt, we have this gigantic lake to walk through/drive through, which is a pain. I’ve also had neighbors park in my spot before, which can be annoying especially during the deep cold of winter. I have lived here for years and I like the location and love my apartment—these are my only grievances to an otherwise good community. Great service, maintenance is quick and efficient, just the few things that we have to put up with to live here."
"I've lived here for the past year and a half and I can't complain about the place. It's placed in a beautiful part of Anchorage where your close to the University and the trails around it and choices of food whether you want trash fast food or something nice. No bad neighbors, either they keep to themselves or are friendly and happy to talk. Haven't had a major issue living here and all the minor issues I've had as far as pet issues or can't getting ahold of security, Deer Park is responsive and do take concerns with the community seriously. Nice apartments that give a homey vibe."
"Great and spacious apartments especially for military or roommates. Staff is attentive and responsive to issues weather around the community or in the appt. of course, living anywhere in anchorage you have the occasional homeless.. Security (Phoenix) is wonderful patrol company and makes me feel a lot safer. Overall great apartments!"
"I lived here September 2019- August 2020. First off, Shannon in the leasing office is great. She was always quick to respond and help with any questions or issues I had while living here. The move in and move out process was basically seamless. The quality of the complex itself is subpar. Older appliances and you can tell the apartments have been lived in. The two bedroom is spacious, relatively well priced, and utilities didn’t run too high. As far as safety goes, I made sure to have a taser on me and a gun in my nightstand. A couple of incidents throughout the year worried me. I survived, obviously, but as a single female, I made sure to be aware of my surroundings and lock my door at all times."
"I would not recommend living in these apartments unless you don't mind dirty stair wells that smell like marijuana and cigarette smoke, having a bullet go through one of your windows, and encountering people who enjoy exercising their 2nd amendment rights. If you can get by these faults, the apartments are fine to live in for the price. They are a little rundown however as the buildings were built sometime in the 1980s, so don't expect anything to be brand new and without stains. As upset as I am about having a bullet go through the window it's only happened once so don't worry about that too much."
