"The management here unfortunately is callous and negligent. There is an elderly woman who is extremely controlling, and totally unaware of tenant-landlord laws. She is very cruel and will use any level of coercion and intimidation to keep that control. She believes she has the authority to command people to do or not to do things that she has absolutely no legal right to do. Some examples, telling you that you cannot have guests visit (overnight or during the day), telling you when you're allowed to do certain things, how you have to use the space you rent, when you're allowed to use hot water, when you can smoke or if you can smoke ( even though these apartments has a designated smoking area- you're only allowed to use it at certain times that she says). She is an alcoholic and chain smoker. Some of the apartments have mold/mildew and haven't been renovated in 20 or more years. The actual apartment manager is actually quite friendly and seems to work hard to maintain the place. But blindly follows any demand that the old lady says and seems to have no actual control over anything so is irrelevant. In all my life i have never seen a community ran in such a heartless manner. Especially right now with everything going on in the world. A tenant was on vacation and their apartment was unoccupied while they were away. They were going to let a family member stay there for 1-3 days while they were waiting for their covid 19 test results and wanted to keep their family sabe as a precautionary measure. This person lived with their small toddler and a high risk elderly mother and to keep from spreading the virus until the got test results were back, needed somewhere to stay, otherwise they would have to quarantine in their car. Quarantine means you stay inside and it could never have effected this women who lives on the opposite side of the apartments or anyone else. Anyone with a heart would do what they could to prevent people from dying. Especially when it costs you nothing and is completely illegal for you to tell a tenant they cant have company for 2 nights. But her response was "no way, not unless the tenant is home." Which would defeat the purpose right? Then she said she not to bring that stuff over here! And that the tenant should be home anyways. None of this is legal. And will likely cost the lives of multiple people including a 3 year old child or potentially the loss of the childs mother. I have never witnessed someone be so inhumane and heartless in my life, when it in no way would have effected or cost her anything besides normal human decency. She is a mean bitter old lady and adds nothing positive to the world."
