"The rooms are really nice. But the service is what you’d expect in Portland. Some of the people were nice but some not so. The valet told my son, when he arrived, that the valet parking lot was full. Given, my son had a room I had rented for him. So he had to park about 10 minutes away. Then my wife showed up about 30 minutes later and magically the parking lot wasn’t full. Go figure. This hotel will nickel and dime you for everything. And there is no pool. And there are a lot of homeless between the hotel and the MODA center (had to walk around puke on the sidewalk next to a tent). So… it’s Portland."
"Great hotel with lots of secure parking. We went here during the winter storm as we lost power and this was one of the only places with rooms left. It was great to come here during a tough time. They are pet friendly so we were able to bring our dog and that was a relief. Great rooms and service. The food is good as well!"
"Fantastic and up to date hotel! This hotel is right at the Convention Center, where we were having a work event. Not only was it convenient, but the hotel was extremely up to date. The lobby, market, and bar were so nice. The catering and service during our conference was top notch. We really appreciated how much effort was put into it all. My room had a huge (like 65 in) TV, and the beds were so comfortable. Great views, too! Awesome stay overall"
"Staff were INCREDIBLE! I was having tons of issues with my company credit card, and they helped me sort it out all while being patient and friendly. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have blackout curtains. BUT! They also come equipped with some of the most hilariously bizarre features I’ve ever seen. The light above the toilet will turn off automatically after about a minute unless you are moving a lot. Like walking around moving. So if you are sitting on the can, be prepared for the lights to just go out on you. The bathroom also has no door. The shower door is opaque to about 5 ft, but above that it is entirely transparent. I was sharing a room with a coworker, and it was weird not having any privacy in the shower. The toilet is walled off with a door, but the wall and door are only mostly opaque. So you can still see outlines and tell whether the person in there is doing #1 or #2. The beds also all have lights at the base that are ridiculously motion sensitive (unlike the toilet light). As soon as you step out of bed. They light up the room supposedly to guide you around. However, humans spent millions of years developing the whole rods and cones setup in our eyes to deal with this exact issue, and nature does it much better than Hyatt. The light I only enough to see around the bed area, and by the time you have made it to the bathroom, it’s dark and you can’t see the light switch because the beds just killed your night vision. It was ridiculous. This was not unique to my room. I brought this up at a banquet in the convention center and everyone else had noticed the exact same thing. We all laughed a ton about how ridiculous the whole setup was. That being said, I still had a good experience. It’s just funny how I’m their efforts to make the hotel modern they made it much less functional."
"This is a great hotel with equally awesome staff! Everyone at the desk, from shift to shift, were very helpful and always willing to help. Special thanks to Jamal and Michael who were super kind and provided excellent, friendly, customer service our entire stay. They acted as consumate professionals and truly represented the Hyatt brand/name very well. The rooms are clean, beds and pillows are comfy and if you are lucky enough to have a view on the side facing the river, it's breathtaking. The rooms would get a five star rating if they had a microwave and a regular fridge. One of the housekeepers was rude, but everyone has a bad day and overall, the others were super nice. Self parking is not the best as it is located across the street and costs $35 per day, and valet, at $45 per day, in my opinion, is expensive as well. The food and coffee in The Market, the restaurant located inside the hotel is great! The food at The the other restaurant, inside the hotel, the Spoke and Fork, is just okay. I would definitely stay here again!"
