"You know my wife and I were pleasantly surprised staying the night here. The only complaint I would have is no AC, it’s winter the room was stuffy and required the windows to be open and the MAX is loud. But besides that we enjoyed our stay. We ate at the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable! Not once but twice the chef came out to speak with us and was so helpful and kind. There are so many perks here as well, free good coffee bottles of water and we received two free drinks of our choice right off the bat. As we know Portland has had its share of problems recently but I felt our vehicle was safe in the garage and we felt safe in the building. Over all A+ Thank you for all you do, it means a lot and is very appreciated."
"My first time in Portland . This hotel is nice. Great location . Walkability to places is good. My room was clean and comfortable except for the pillows. The location of my room overlooked the street and the river. There was street noise all night . Some inconsiderate guest making noise but this was not the hotels fault. The restaurant attached was very nice. Breakfast was great but a little pricey. I would stay here again."
"The hotel is very old which is fine, but our biggest gripe was that the rooms don't have their own temperature controls so the heat had our room in the mid 80s and we had to keep opening the windows in the middle of winter. I also didn't like that the "amenities" were charged separately. Their rationale was that they didn't want to "nickel and dime" their guests, except that's exactly what they did in a lump sum whether you used the amenities at all. Had I know that it was going to be and extra $25 a night for mandatory amenities, I would have booked a nicer hotel. It was an extra $50 a night with parking and "amenities". The folks at the front desk were really nice so I will give them credit for service there. The location was pretty good and we felt reasonably safe there. Probably would opt for a nicer hotel next time we're in Portland for the price."
"First time in Portland but I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Lots of great amenities like free bottled water, free drink at the bar and those delicious shortbread cookies. The pineapple theme is cute without being overdone. The beds and bedding are super comfortable. Love the two smaller duvets so there’s no fighting for the covers. I’d say the bed situation qualifies as the most comfortable hotel sleep I’ve ever had, honestly. Oh and the cute little dog mascot on the bed when we got in tickled me as well. Great hotel!"
"Room was so so, old shampoo still in the shower, hair in the bathroom, had to request another set of sheets because the ones on the bed had stains. Service was just enough to be helpful; absolutely nothing over that was extended. Food in restaurant was good, service again was weird, but nice. It just seemed like no one who worked there knew what was going on. Also, the hotel always had these very strong weird smells; from bleach to toothpaste air, it was strange. Not much air flow, we had a balcony otherwise I would've been miserable. The smells we never present, very pungent, made your nose tingle. It was all throughout the hotel. Anyhow, its ok for just enough, best part is the cookies and the restaurant/bar - and definitely get a balcony!"
