"The front desk gal was INCREDIBLY rude. 1- I understand that you have to dial #0002 to talk to her at the front desk while making eye contact with her. 2- as a guess, visibly trying and did not get the dial box to work(shoker! I don’t live there!). When I was able to grab her attention she responded with a rude and unprofessional eye roll. 3- as she was INTERUPTED and had to unplug her phone to open the door to talk to me she MADE SURE to point, and tapped at the letters the door that says dial #0002 to talk to front desk! 4 - this is no way! In no damn way! To talk to anyone. She should learn to be nicer. 5- last but very importantly, I was there to visit an injured coworker with care as evident(flowers, basket of things, etc.) So be Nice!!!! Rude rude rude! This happened at 4:10 pm 1/20/24 I don’t want this person fired, just need to be kind for the future please."
"This complex has the absolute worst management to deal with. The young ladies are sweet but the “manager” is a joke and she needs to find a new profession. Save yourself many headaches from having to deal with this Karen and spend your hard earned rent somewhere where you will be appreciated as a tenant."
"I want to make sure to leave this review for anyone researching this apartment that might have mobility issues. We have been here under a year and the elevator has been out of order several times, each time lasting several days. The frequency and length of these issues could be a serious impact if you are unable to use stairs. The information in other reviews seems on par with my experiences (keeping in mind the buildings are next to a freeway/grocery store). Most (if not all?) of the office staff in the leasing office are also tenants and my interactions with them have been good. They all seem to genuinely care and want the best, but seems they are limited by the resources and choices of Avenue5. In a community that does see a large number of issues, my biggest concern is the lack of communication. There was an issue a few months back where several storage units were broken into and there was never anything sent out to inform tenants (the office had brought in painters for the hallways/doors and painters left storage unit doors open to dry for several hours. Not the brightest move in this area). I was told by management that it would be a liability issue for them to have sent communication out about it. More recently there was an incident just a couple months ago where someone had their car stolen at knife point (in the “secure” lot) and once again, nothing sent out to inform tenants which feels like a serious safety issue to me. Not receiving updates around incidents like this does make it feel like management cares more about mitigating feedback from frustrated tenants than the actual safety of human beings. I have seen some improvement in communication in the last couple months, but I still get my most timely/pertinent updates from other tenants. The actual apartments are great. We’re in a 2 bedroom and have lots of counter space in the kitchen and the appliances all work well. The main areas in the bedrooms as well as above the living room did not come with light fixtures which was interesting to see in a new construction building. But we installed lights with fans that help do a good job with air circulation in the summer. The Bluetooth/ZWave/SmartApart/Iotas stuff (like being able to control your lights/outlets through your phone) that was promoted on website and during tours does not work and is never going to so be weary of that. Community facilities are nice and mostly well kept. Overall, it’s what you would expect for a new construction apartment in Portland located off a freeway that’s managed by a big company that lacks personal touch. Adjust your expectations based on that criteria and you’ll do just fine here."
"Decent apartment complex. You're a few minutes from Mudbay, New Seasons, and Fred Meyers. The area is also pretty clean. People who live here care about the space. I saw a tenant walking around picking up trash too. The appliances are also pretty new and didn't have any issues. And they have storage facilities at really affordable prices! Every person has been generally friendly. I really appreciate the communication. Staff is also polite and accommodating. Mackenzie has helped me a bunch - from lost packages or just helping with general questions. I asked if they can add a lock to my storage facility, and it was done pretty quickly. The major gripes people have in other reviews aren't wrong, but also aren't something the Apt complex can control. Yes, it's next to a highway. Yes, there's homeless people. Yes, there's delivery trucks because surprise... you live on top of a supermarket."
"I've been living in this apartment complex for some time now, and unfortunately, it has been a nightmare from day one. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Here are some of the issues I've encountered: 1. Dog area: The so-called "dog area" is more like a pet waste minefield. It's impossible to walk through without stepping in something unpleasant. Management doesn’t enforce proper cleaning and maintenance in this area. 2. Safety concerns: My unit has experienced several break-in attempts, and I feel extremely unsafe here. The lack of security measures is alarming, and management does not take this issue seriously. 3. Homeless individuals: The complex seems to attract a lot of homeless people who engage in drug use, particularly fentanyl. They not only pass out in various areas, making the complex feel even more unsafe, but they also leave behind a significant amount of tin foil that they use for smoking drugs. 4. Incompetent management and staff: Dealing with the management and staff has been nothing short of frustrating. They consistently demonstrate incompetence and are unhelpful in resolving any concerns or issues. Their inability to handle even the most basic tasks is baffling. 5. Maintenance neglect: I understand that maintenance is short-staffed, but even when they were fully staffed, one of the employees left in the middle of a repair, stating he would be back, only to find him taking the worlds longest smoke break. He never came back to finish the job, and when I encountered him later in the day and asked when he was going to return to finish the job, he gave me attitude and displayed a lack of professionalism. 6. Unresponsive corporate: It's disheartening to share that corporate never responds back, ever. They are nothing short of an elusive ghost. I've attempted multiple times to reach out to them for assistance and to report the ongoing issues, but it's like my complaints vanish into thin air. Their lack of response and concern for residents' problems is truly disappointing. 7. Faulty fire alarms: The faulty fire alarms are a major nuisance. They have gone off randomly on multiple occasions, disrupting our sleep and causing unnecessary panic. This issue has persisted for several months, and nothing has been done to fix it. Overall, my experience in this apartment complex has been nothing short of a nightmare. I urge anyone considering moving here to think twice and explore other options. Your safety and well-being should be a top priority, and unfortunately, this place falls drastically short in providing a livable and secure environment."
