Jupiter NEXT

"This hotel looks really trendy and cool, but a fresh coat of paint can't replace old equipment and thin walls. But all hotels have thin walls, so let's focus on the equipment. The air conditioner in my room is obviously broken or has been hacked, so it can only be set at 73 with the AC on. And you can tell there is a computer issue because the numbers literally display backward.... not in reverse, backward. But they won't admit to setting this on purpose, which is clearly the case. Ok. Cold room. No big deal, right? No. The problem with that is that *the compressor is broken,* so when it kicks in, it sounds like a bomb is exploding, which obviously no one can sleep through. When I asked the staff about this, they told me to unplug it. Unplug. The. Source. Of. Air. I've never been more uncomfortable somewhere that wasn't a crappy motel. It's not unreasonable to need a fan while you sleep. *update* Reply to reply from owner: Why would the person not just say that when I asked? The whole issue here at this point is communication. But thanks for the reply. I'll change my rating. All I wanted was to change the settings and no one could tell me how. There is also no way to contact the front desk from your room and no coffee maker but a few mugs for some reason. This is only day 2 of 4, and I am completely delirious because of the demonic AC unit, which does not work well when you're traveling for work. That being said, the bed is comfy and the owner clearly does care. Just very disappointed in the experience so far."

"My wife and I had a lovely stay here on our wedding night! The location was perfect for our NE Portland wedding venue, and the service was absolutely immaculate. We let the front desk know it was our wedding night and they surprised us with a bottle of prosecco brought chilled to our room! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area looking for convenience, vibes, and service. Worth every penny - especially since we were able to shoot some pre-wedding photos in their gorgeous lobby! Thank you!"

"We had the pleasure of staying at the Jupiter last night. Aside from the discrepancy of being overcharged, the hotel was great. Clean and modern designs with friendly staff. It's a little bit of a rough neighborhood but overall great! Update: bill was fixed. They were fast to check and rectify any situation. I will definitely stay again."

"It was my first time staying at the Jupiter Next and it won't be the last! I checked-in after hours because of a red-eye flight with no issue as they have flexibility with check-in. My room was clean with a much appreciated welcome snack pack. I ended up extending my stay because of the winter storm but enjoyed food from Hey Love downstairs and the assortment of spicy ramen I was able to purchase from their lobby bar. Overall, it's one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long time. The modern, thoughtful conveniences that were offered are exemplary."

"The Hotel was wonderful, the service was very good. We tried to use the low voltage chargers in the two bedside lamps but neither worked. Lighting was confusing, with a local control switch at each overhead or wall mounted fixture that was controlled by a master switch at the door. One of the first time in over 55 years of traveling there was no coffee in the room. Just our thoughts"
