"Wasn't there was walking a friend's dog near the villas. Out getting some exercise"
"Good property management here!"
"Your first warning sign should be when you notice the Villas look like someone copy and pasted the same building four times... As someone who stayed here over the summer during my internship with Deere & Co., I found the Villas marginally good enough for a 10-12 week stay (you have a personal bathroom without a toilet roll rod and shower without a curtain rod, which is nice). But the main problem is the unhelpfulness of the staff and maintenance folk. My roommates and I came into our room expecting a standard college-apartment-style place, which it somewhat was. However, it was very evident the room had not been cleaned before our moving-in date (yet they posted LARGE sheets on our doors saying what happens if we didn't clean our rooms to their liking before we left!). There were crushed Goldfish and chips underneath and around the couch, and dog fur lining the living room carpet and two of our rooms. I also found my sink had not been cleaned (there was hair clogging the drain), so I put in a maintenance request. I thought 2 weeks would be good enough for this problem to be handled, but I never got word back from maintenance. After trying to clean out the sink myself at this time, I called the phone number of the building staff after work one day (~4:00 PM) because I didn't have the tools to just do it myself, didn't want to damage anything, and needed help because the sink would take over an hour to fully drain. The staff phone number was listed as available from 9 AM - 5 PM on weekdays, but no one answered the call...because it turns out they all LEAVE at 4! And show up to work around 10! So if I wanted to see them face-to-face to ask any questions, I'd have to show up to work late (usually not a good option) or leave work early (which is nice but sub-optimal). Certainly, if this were a one-time issue, taking leave early from work once is manageable, but even then my maintenance request never got handled. The other issue was my key fob stopped working three days after I moved in, and maintenance never came through with this either... Lastly, if you use a wheelchair, the one room with a modified shower is directly in the middle of the building (for the first floor at least; I would assume there aren't any for the second and third as there are no elevators in the first place). Given that one end of the building is at an elevation much lower than the other (I'd say ~20-30 degrees off, which is quite steep on a wheelchair), you may find yourself having to roll up the inclined plane. Because wheelchair-friendly rooms are usually placed at the end of the halls by the door in any standard dorm or college apartment, this observation lends credence to my claim that at least half of the Villas was "copied and pasted" over to the other side. How sad... So are the Villas good enough? Sure, why not; I would have given this place a 3 star rating if everything had gone perfectly, which is just fair for a college-style apartment. You'll find that your room satisfies most of your living needs (it's nice to have your own bathroom, but bring your own WiFi router), and if you encounter no problems, then you are one lucky individual. However, if an issue does happen to arise, good luck finding any staff who can help..."
