Standard Rents

"Before they try to respond with a lie saying I was not a tenant. I’m currently a tenant in one of their properties in Clayton County. We have lived in this property over 3 years. They racially profile and make applicants of minority races pay ridiculous deposits to deter them from renting from them. We had to buy and replace our own major appliances upon moving in: Refrigerator, and replace a stove that they claimed we damaged. The stove was old and damaged when we moved in. Our windows are so old and not conducive to weather that our energy and gas utility bills are extremely high. Anytime we contact them for repairs they treat us like it’s a privilege they even allowed us in the property to begin with. We’ve endured extremely hot summers due to the management not taking our maintenance requests seriously and extremely cold winters with no compensation - rent was not reduced. The sewage waste backed up in our house and all they did was paint over the ceiling and walls. This is not a company you want to rent from at all. We are locked in a 5 year lease with this company and these are the most unprofessional, insensitive, arrogant, racially biased, toxic people I’ve had the unfortunate experience to lease under. We have every copy of maintenance request and correspondence to prove these people are not interested in fixing their leased properties, they only care about the money. So if you see a house you really love and it’s leased and managed by Standard Rents, take my advice - DON’T DO IT! I wish I could rate them a zero."

"I am giving them a 1 because I can't give them a ZERO. They are not to be trusted. I thought I was selling my house to them but all they did was assume my loan with Wells Fargo. I made this transaction with them Nov 2016 and I have asked them numerous times to take my name off of the house to no avail. The one who I was dealing with is Ian. Like I said THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED."

Even though I don’t personally know the people who work there, our paths crossed and I was approved for a home two days after submitting my application and moved in seven days later. "Where do I start. Back in February my husband and I came across a home in Jonesboro we viewed the home liked it. We started the process of applying for this home. This was in the beginning of March. We had questions in between the process so we were communicating back and fourth with a male who we thought was Mr. Stevi Smith. A few days later we had to keep calling because nobody was answering the numbers given. A few days after that we received a email from Steve Smith who we thought was the male that we was speaking with pryor, apologizing for not being able to return our phone calls. But it was a lady that called and left a message and left the name DeeDee. OK now I want to know who is DeeDee maybe she's the secretary. I responded and we had a few words and her words were completely different from the man we was speaking with. I told her that I have been speaking with Mr. Stevi Smith she goes well I am Stevi Smith and you have been speaking with me. No I've been speaking with a man, and you sure don't sound nothing like the man my husband and I have been speaking to. Well I don't know who you were talking to.Well how are you not going to know who's answering incoming phone calls about your rental property. We went back and fourth she got aggravated and I was already aggravated. OK well here it is March 28th I received a email stating we are still processing applications and we should have a decision by the end of this week. Well I have given my current landlord my 30 day notice and my 30 days will be up in 7 days. Of course I'm pissed right now. So far it started of as Standard Rents now it say Standard Holdings LLC. Now she said all that my antennas went up, let me try the numbers I called the 1st few times. I called those numbers back several times there's no answer. So now I'm talking to a DeeDee who say she's Stevi Smith and when she calls or emails me it say Standard Holdings. I'm truly getting skeptical about everything. Mind you this house has been sitting there for a year or so. There ain't no way it take 3 almost 4 weeks for a decision. So they made $80 off my family, and just imagine how much money they're making because they take way too long to get you in one they houses and folks like me and my husband don't have that kind of time to wait. They are making a killing. Do your research read all the reviews. I didn't, I should have but this is a lesson well learned. This statement is true and it is happening right now as I write my review."
