"Let me share my story - My husband and I wanted to look at a beautiful property listed with Shelley Duke. Open house for said property (listed at 850K) on a Saturday from 2-4. We called ahead of time to be sure the open house was still on. YES. We get there at 215 and begin looking inside the house first. My husband is beyond in love with this property and wants to purchase it - so he wants to really give it a good look over since it is pretty expensive. Upon walking in the door we are greeted by Shelley. She quickly tells us that they have received a cash offer that morning "just so we can keep that in mind". We say ok; and continue looking at the house. We notice some settling of the floor in the living room and ask her about it. She says the seller says it has always been that way and has caused no issue. We head outside to look at the pool and then the outdoor buildings. Upon getting in the outdoor buildings the 2nd realtor comes out and talks with us. She is very friendly. We tell her we want to look at the rest of the property. She heads inside after talking with us. We tell her we will head back inside once done looking at the property and will sign the sign-up sheet and talk. We walk around the property checking the well, the pond, the back property etc. At this point my daughter needed to use the restroom - so I bring her to the bathroom at the pool. At this point Shelley comes out and says they have to leave. I was surprised and looked at my phone. Its 325 at this point. I say "Oh. I thought the open house was til 4". Shelley says - we have another appointment we have to get to and we don't want to be late. I say - is it ok if we finish up outside. She says No, I cant leave anyone on the property. So I call my husband from the back of the property. He walks up and says "what's going on". I tell him we have to leave. He too being surprised says "I thought the open house was til 4, we even called before we came". Shelley again tells him they have another appointment they have to make and she can make us another appointment to see the house. My husband says - we drove an hour and really were hoping to see the property today. Thats why we called in advance. Shelley says "We have been inside waiting on yall. You seen us packing up to get out of here - and that is just RUDE!" She does not say this in a nice way. I am completely caught off guard and shocked by her tone. I tell her - we have been in the out buildings and the back of the property. We didn't know yall were packing up. Why would we even think you were leaving. The open house is suppose to be til 4. Shelley says "Well it doesn't really matter does it! I am the realtor and this is my listing - yall need to just get off the property!" As she is talking to us like complete trash, she is walking to her car asking for her phone, telling the other realtor we are yelling at her and being rude. My husband tells me to calm down and not worry - she doesn't think we are serious buyers and they already have an offer and that's why the are leaving early". She gets offended and tells my husband he is being ridiculous. Shelley continues walking to her car to get her phone - I say - ma'am we are not being rude. You called us rude and accused us of knowing you were trying to leave. We got in the car and left. I cried driving home. I have never been kicked off a property and treated like trash. I felt very judged and offended. Despite all of this my husband still loves/wants this house. He wants to make a higher offer but first wants to be sure the floor and settling of the property are ok and not going to be a further problem if we buy. So we call Ram Jack in Tallahassee, Fl. They inform me the seller has them going to see the house the following week. We wait. The day after Ram Jack assessed the house we have our realtor call Shelley to see about the report. Short version - she cussed our realtor out. Told him how dare he questions her integrity. DO NOT USE HER! ?Why would a realtor schedule another appt during an Open House - Hmmmmm - truth or false????"
