The Lion and the Rose Bed and Breakfast

"I hesitate writing this but felt it was important enough to share. I've stayed at dozens of B&B's across the country. I was very disappointed with the accommodations. The hosts were very nice and customer oriented which we greatly appreciate, however, the rooms are in a huge need of a deep clean and upgraded linens and furnishings. The bed had two huge dips in it, I imagine the mattress is at least 10+ years old, the towels had stains on them, the tv was smaller than a computer monitor, the rooms were warm and the ac (window unit) had a hard time keeping the room cool even in late October. While we do appreciate the kindness of the host, I would not return. At a minimum, I expect a clean room and bathroom anywhere I stay, with linens that are unstained."

Very communicative for late entry, dietary needs, and any needs for your room. If you stay we highly recommend the Marion Hall room. Great natural light, spacious and in room functioning fireplace."

"I have nothing but great things to say about this charming and romantic B&B! The hosts are so warm and welcoming and friendly. Our room (the top floor suite) was SPACIOUS yet cozy romantic. Fresh coffee is delivered to your door in the morning. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Breakfast was delicious and the dining area is communal, which makes for talking with the other guests, and that is one of the things my husband and I love about bed and breakfasts. The street is quiet and has sidewalks for enjoying a stroll through this quaint and beautiful neighborhood. The delicious Nine Mile restaurant is right across the street and the food is phenomenal! Within walking distance is Little Jumbos cocktail bar/lounge, offering unique and well crafted cocktails along with live music. Thank you, Lion And Rose for an unforgettable experience!"

"Had an amazing time staying with Karen and Steve. What a great couple and a beautiful home. The location was Incredibly convenient and the room we stayed in was phenomenal. The bed was luxurious and comfortable, the shower was perfect water pressure and temperature, the temperature was easy to control and the room was perfect. Will come back for sure!"

"I absolutely love this place and Montford in general. Karen and Steve were delightful hosts who made sure we had everything we needed without feeling at all intrusive. They make a killer breakfast and you are greeted with homemade sweets and home brewed beer. The location is absolutely beautiful, quiet and comfortable. And as a chronic sleeper…their bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have slept on. I will absolutely stay here again"
