"My Wife and I after a long Drive From Virginia on our way back to California Stopped in to get some rest for the night and I have nothing but 100% Satisfaction. From the start when we Walked in we were created by Dexter and He was Awesome! The location is perfect with lots to see and eat within walking distance. The Hotel Bar and staff were great and the room was clean and updated with a hip vibe! If we ever make our way back to this little mountain town we will definitely be staying here again!"
"Update: Had a chance to stay with them again. MUCH improved experience. And in the original case they did a lot to fix the problems we were having. It’s not my favorite place to go but that’s more the overall noise and feel of Asheville, nothing to do with the hotel directly. Out of the 3 downtown hotels we’ve now stayed at, Aloft is the most accommodating and has the best most responsive staff of any of them! Original review: The lobby has an overwhelming strong potpourri scent, loud music, and dirty floors. Rooms are only barely better. Ran AC non stop and couldn’t get room cooled enough for comfort. Location is loud. Would be fine for half the price but not for the premium rate."
"Very disappointed to find out upon check-in that the hotel does not have a dog-run area as advertised on the website, nor did the front desk offer any bowls or treats as advertised. In addition, we were presented with a laundry list of reasons that we could be fined (up to $250) or kicked out without question if the dogs were left in the room for a short period of time even if quiet and in a kennel. Not dog friendly as advertised. Would request to cancel my 2nd night but I suspect it would be a hassle. Safety: Tried to take the dogs down side stairway (interior) so that we didn't have to take them through lobby but there were two guys doing drugs in the stairway. Didn't feel safe."
"Miserable experience. We like dogs but not barking all night. We were woken up at least 3 times per night on our recent 2 night stay in Asheville. Why they do not confine the guests with dogs to certain floors and the non-dog guests to the others is so dumb but when we tried to move, they told us the dogs were on all floors....idiotic business policy. Also the carpet in the room smelled like dog. Not what you expect from a $400 plus per night hotel. We will not be back and do not recommend."
"For almost $500/night, one would think rooms would be in good condition. Friendly staff should have nice newer room quality to work with Positive- neat lobby, and every single staff member was excellent. You can tell they are well trained and managed. Rooms had very comfortable beds. Location is great, hard to beat experiencing downtown and Biltmore trip. Negative- the carpet in the hallways and in the rooms were old, worn, and stained. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was so obvious that I’d assume a renovation is already planned, hopefully."
