"I honestly wish I could give them a 0 star review, never rent here or any apartment complex run by the Capano company. The staff is as incompetent as they come, to the point were they actually lose paper work. I moved out. Did everything I was told to do. I was supposed to no longer be on the lease. My old roommate stayed behind. And we he decided to walk out on the lease, I somehow got dragged back in and footed with the bill. Because of this my credit is now destroyed. So please do yourself a favor don't rent with these people it's not worth it."
"I have lived in the community for around 3 months. Actually it is totally ok for us, except the apartment is a little bit old. However, the rent is good and we do not expect a new apartment with the money we paid. The kitchen is renovated and seems to be clean, as well as the bathroom, which makes us happy. I want to talk about the office as well. Actually I have not rent an apartment for years. I reviewed google and yelp before we moved in and I am a little bit worried about the office and the repairment due to the reviews I got. However I have to say currently that the landlord is very good, with fast and effective responses to the service requests. The technician is very skillful and friendly. Also they mow and clean the lawn frequently, at least 1-2 times per week. Now they have updated the entrance with password for each building which makes me feel better and safer since the strangers cannot enter. Thanks for everything we got in apple chase."
"Hi, I have been a resident for only one year now in apartment ____ and have had multiple issues in which I feel have not been properly handled by any means. In the past four months I have had a maintenance worker scheduled to visit my home six times. Five of those times were for air conditioning alone. The last time being the hottest day of the year and it was not considered an emergency, even though I have a cat and there was an excessive heat warning. My apartment was 96 degrees for over 48 hours. Luckily, my pet survived the three days it took for someone to fix it temporarily. The day it broke I went into the leasing office the moment they opened to try and have the issue escalated after I called emergency maintenance, who might I add were particularly indecent to me. Even though the leasing office reached out the supervisor of the maintenance team we still had to wait. Today I am complaining because the unit has broken again and the temperature is rising. I do not want to struggle to have it fixed again, when if they had properly done the job right the first time we wouldn't be in this predicament for the fifth time in the past four months. However this is not my only issue. May 12th squirrels raided my apartment after maintenance came out to fix a hole in the side of the building. They neglected to check the hole for squirrels and trapped them inside of my walls. The squirrels chewed through my wall and defecated all over my apartment, chewing on expensive wooden furniture and putting my cat in danger. That issue took 3 days to handle with maintenance in and out of my apartment invading my privacy. The fix was sending someone out to patch the wall and clean the carpets which did not make up for me taking time off work, sleeping elsewhere, and my furniture. Also last month a teenager was selling drugs on my doorstep and a week or so later one was shot on that doorstep. I have had enough and I've been extremely patient. Every month I pay on time and try to be understanding but I do not send a bad check so I should not receive bad service. Before I take this any further I would appreciate my air conditioning unit fixed in a timely manner by a professional. Here is a copy of my complaint that has yet to be replied to and my air conditioning that is still broken."
"I must say, if you have the right apartment in this complex, it is pretty great. I had a top floor, 2br apartment at the end of the building. The good: Having lived in several complexes before, the noise level was below average. Amenities were good, heating/cooling costs were less than expected. My dishwasher broke at one point, and the service technicians had it fixed before i came home the next day. You have access to Verizon FIOS and Xfinity internet here and self installation was available. The parking lot was well lit and there was always plenty of space to work on my car. The bad: Kitchen is a bit out-dated. I had to clean the oven as the previous tenant didn't do it. The carpets are cream colored; be careful with guests!!! Seems like the sort of place designed for small families, college students not so much."
"Wow, where to start? I recently retired and sold my house earlier than anticipated. I had to work an additional six months, so I looked for an apartment close to work. I wish that I had read reviews first. I lived at Apple Chase for six months. The kitchen had roaches (and roach dirt) on top of the washer and dryer in the kitchen when I moved in. I sprayed the heck out of them the day I moved in and later found that they had moved out of the kitchen into the living room, which was sprayed, too. One month later, I was required (notice left on the door on Friday) to empty out all of my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers because the building was being treated for roaches on Monday. Couldn't they have done my unit while it was vacant? Or at least wiped up the roach dirt? The washer broke a couple of times and the dryer was replaced once. We weren't living there with kids - these appliances didn't see a lot of use. The kitchen cabinets were hung at an angle that made my wife think that they were going to fall off of the wall. The upstairs bathroom leaked water onto my head while I was sitting in the bathroom (was it from the toilet? the shower?). We reported it, and I suppose that it was fixed, but we simply stopped using that bathroom. We could hear every little thing that went on in the apartment above us. Everything. Moans, bed squeaks, telephone calls - I'm glad that we didn't have kids there. The explanations would have been awkward. One morning, I found some guy sleeping on the floor in the hallway as I left for work at 0400. He was at the bottom of the steps and came in, I suppose, to get out of the cold. He was gone when my wife left the house later, though. WTF? When I went to move, Apple Chase not only kept my deposit - they claimed that I owed them additional rent for not giving them a sixty-day notice, even though I had rejected their renewal terms (see Del Landlord-Tenant Code section 5107). They also charged us over $800 to replace worn, stained carpet that I had complained about in writing when we moved in. They claimed that my small well-trained dog had damaged it (Not true! We had area rugs from our recently-sold house over top of much of the icky apartment carpet). Four days after I sent them a check for the amout they demanded (I was expecting a refund), I received a letter from a collection agency about the debt. I believe that they did this because we moved out of state and would not be able to pursue a Small Claims Court solution economically. If you move to Apple Chase, you will have bathrooms with no windows, a stove with no glass in the door that relies on pilot lights, a single-bowl sink with no rinser attachment, narrow drawers in the kitchen that won't hold most silverware keepers and you will have to deal with rental agents that think nothing of stealing deposit money from their tenants."
