SpringHill Suites by Marriott Newark Downtown

"Great hotel! Right next to Main St for food and fun. The hotel is very well kept, reception staff is kind and helpful and the room was beautiful! The bed was very comfortable, I slept great. Shower water pressure was nice and they provide a nice shampoo/conditioner/body soap. Breakfast is good too. Will absolutely stay again."

"“Of course the manager will only comment on the great reviews, but I’m taking a pic to make sure I have this review”..We had a hard time with the night shift ladies, first night desk lady (black) and before you say anything IM BLACK, acted as if my wife or the Dog should not be there. 1st issue came when we went to go to her Parents GRAVE SITE, they had cancelled our room but gave us other keys , but the kicker is the night shift again asked if we had 2 dogs and we said yes and she told us WELL YOUR DOGS HAVE BEEN BARKING AND WHINING FOR A LONG TIME. HOW IN THE HECK did they KNOW WE HAD 2 unless they came into the room ..The only one that was ever walked was my dog, my wife’s dog is a small one that is pad trained..IS THIS NOT A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL????? ..Dogs like children hate to leave their parents. If you don’t want dogs in your establishment, then say so. We didn’t complain about the children running up and down the hall way, or the babies crying half the night. I really hate to say all desk personnel because the woman in the day (white- sorry I don’t know her name) was and is still very sweet to our dogs and us, that’s how it’s supposed to be And we too have a huge stain on our couch and they probably will try to blame on the animals"

"We love this hotel we stay there all the time. This is our choice of hotel whenever we come to Delaware. But this time we had some unfortunate family events come up where we had to be up until three in the morning with the FBI and CPS and we asked Susan the front desk girl if she can extend us because we had to talk to law-enforcement in the morning and she wouldn’t do anything to help us. She said she could extend us by 30 minutes, but we are unable to bring our dog in to a police station and we could just keep her in the car. I pleaded but she was no help. We will be back only because of the location of the hotel and I worked for Marriott for a while, and if something this important came up, we always made sure to help our guest in any way possible and I wish that other hotels run by Marriott did the same thing it’s unfortunate that she was just extending people by 30 minutes even if it was something this drastic going on."

"Good place to take children. A good place to stay if you have a rental car (close to Hertz and Enterprise) good standard breakfast. Professional and helpful staff. Children’s beds was not made, and we had to get another set of bed linen for kid number 2. (Even though the we also paid for the kids when staying there) Served breakfast on cardboard plates and disposable cups, not very environmentally friendly."

"The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the mini fridge in the room would not stay cold and I had to pump and store breastmilk in there so I resorted to filling a icebucket and keeping my milk cold that way. Other than that the room was very nice (some questionable stains on the couch aside) it was very comfortable there. Bathrooms in hotels are big for me and this place did not disappoint. The free breakfast was actually really good and there are different options each day. Staff was super nice and attentive. I will definitely be staying again and recommending this place to others."
