"We got married here in August of 2023, and to say we had a great time would be an understatement. I've always dreamed of getting married by the water or in the woods, and this venue allowed both things to happen! We were there Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning, and we never got tired of the place. There is so much room for friends and family, and the property is loaded with activities (tennis, kayaking, boating, swimming, etc.) We were nervous that maybe the reception hall would feel too crammed during our reception, but it was very comfortable, and our guests had plenty of room to roam around. The landscaping was so beautiful and impressive, and the rooms and reception hall were very up-to-date and clean. Joy and her staff were so hospitable and accommodating to our needs. Please check this place out for future weddings, reunions, parties, etc! We cannot say enough great things about this place!!!!"

"I hosted a very large family reunion there July 23rd-July 27th. We have been having reunions since 1995, and this year was the best. I had tons of family reach out to me to express how much they loved the venue and how this was the best location yet. Having access to everything on site made it so we didn’t have to venture out and we all got more time together! The kids had the best time ever! The lake was a huge hit, and the water was so clear! The grounds were beautiful and so were all the common ground meeting areas!! If we choose one destination instead of different states each time, we will choose here!! I had worked with Joy for well over a year and she always got back to me so quick and was a pleasure to work with!!! This is hands down a no brainer for anyone that’s wanting to host a reunion!!! I’m so sad our reunion is over."

"Family Wedding And Family Vacation Perfect venue for both!!! Our family has been vacationing together for 27 years and Sojourn Lakeside Resort is the best there is in Michigan!!! It has something for everyone!!! We have 40+ people to please and this place pleases everyone!!! That is a miracle lol!!! This is our 3rd year coming here. We love it so much that this year we had a family wedding!!! It was awesome!!!"

"My husband and I were here for a wedding and the whole weekend at Sojourn was like a fairy tale. Granted, the fall weather was spectacular, but the setting and entire venue was over-the-top charming and idyllic. Technically a "rustic" venue, you'll be hard pressed to not feel showered in elegance throughout. As you drive into the resort, you'll first notice a picture perfect sign and vignette. Then, the layout for the outdoor ceremony right in front of the lake was dreamy (the folding chairs are never comfy, though, ha!) from the floral trellis to the sound system. Everyone moved into a deluxe tent for appetizers and cocktail party. It's well heated and sturdy enough to forget it's a tent. Then we moved into the building for the reception. The cabin is gorgeous - outdoorsy touches and decor abound. It's heaven for Instagram updates (actually, the whole resort is). When the sun sets, the light pouring in makes it somewhat challenging to stay cool but the light blast didn't last long. The indoor bar/lounge between the tent and building is a nice addition for the evening. There is a very small ladies restroom and if it's the only one, they could use another. Then it was back to the tent for the after party. (This was also the place for the party the night before.) Loved Sojourn so much!"

"Amazing resort / venue for my son's wedding. Joy and Rob made our stay and the wedding schedule seamless. Amenities were great! We took advantage of it all! Guest rooms were comfortable and spacious! Loved every minute of our stay! Thank you for making my son and daughter-in-laws wedding weekend magical!"
