“This was by far the best Mexican food I've had. I had the nachos with guacamole, beautiful and crispy chips. Followed up with a pork burrito, also delicious and flavourful, with a good mixed filling. Every bit was perfect. I'd recommend adding their hot sauces, they're mild and go really well. I followed this up with 3 tacos, pork and beef, and a fish. All were great. The fish was crispy battered and tasted fresh. Overall a 10/10 experience”

“This was hands down one of the best places we've been to eat whilst visiting Newcastle, we love to try new places on our many stays and Wil & Sons will definitely be a must visit every time for us! We had a reservation and unfortunately got held up, but the lovely staff member who answered the phone was so bubbly and understanding and more than welcoming when we arrived shortly after our due time - this was greatly appreciated after a massive 12hr+ day for us. We ordered within a few minutes of settling in choosing cocktails and an assortment of entrees and sides staff were more than happy to accommodate an extra piece for a dish to even out portions. All of the meals and drinks arrived in outstanding time and beautifully presented, they almost looked too good to eat. Safe to say we were not disappointed in our choices and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We were lucky enough to try a dessert special of a deconstructed apple crumble and followed by another cocktail the Jim Jam recommended by one of the very attentive staff Jaz. Words really can't give our experience the credit they deserve from the atmosphere, staff and the food I was so pleased we had the pleasure to dine here and will continue to do so and looking forward to trying some of the other menu offerings!”

“Been driving past here for a while now and finally decided to stop in whilst we were checking out the nearby op shops. We couldn't believe how quiet it was during lunch, as the alluring smoke and smell tempted us from a good 200m away. Once here we found that the place consisted of a shipping container and two trailers where the magic happened, all decorated in a rusted out tin-vintage style with the surrounding brickwork beautifully spraypainted in Texan BBQ imagery. Within 5 minutes of ordering, my partner had her small mac & cheese with a side of expertly cooked beef brisket that melted in her mouth. I was treated to the Carnivore Burger with the very same brisket, along with some juicy pork, and a layer of spicy sausage on the bottom. Although I didn't get a beer, we saw advertisements for these and got the feeling it would be a blast to hit up on a Friday or Saturday night. An absolute gem in Newcastle and well worth a visit from anyone out Islington/Hamilton way or strolling down Beaumont Street.”

“Went here for a girls dinner and it met and exceeded every expectation. From the service (which was so warm and attentive) to the food (every morsel was delicious) - we had the best experience and will definitely be going back. Highly recommend the Chef's Choice and be sure to try the spiced lamb ribs and butter bean dip. Both were exceptional.”

“*self confessed kebab connoisseur I've had kebabs all over Australia and Europe, and this place was in the top 5 I've ever gone to for the quality of the kebab. The kebab bread was beautifully soft and crisp without being too doughy. The meat was juicy and moist. Salads were super fresh. Cheese melted properly and evenly around the outer of the kebab, as well as non stingy amounts of sauce in the right ratios. I could go on for a while. I ended up coming back the day after as I thought it might have been a one off. However, next days kebab ended up being ever better somehow !. Next time I'm passing through Newcastle I'll be stopping by again”

“What an amazing dining experience! As a single mother of 4 children, restraunts can be difficult to enjoy. This place had something for everyone and we all enjoyed the food. We also got to fish off the jetty while we waited for our food to arrive. Will definitely be back again.”
