“Bamboo palace is my choice for Chinese food in Mayfield. They are really friendly, it's a family orientated business with the whole family working there. The meals are cooked to perfection as far as I'm concerned and priced better than most other Chinese shops I've been to. You can call them and place an order prior to arriving at the shop to pick up which I find time saving and an easy task to preform. The only thing I feel they need to get to improve the business is EFTPOS as they currently don't have it, but there is an ATM in the service station that the shop is based at so it's not really that big of a problem for me or anyone really! I give Bamboo Palace 5 stars as it really deserves it, it's my favourite Chinese takeaway/eat in restaurant.”

“I had Matthew and George cater for my Australia Day function this year and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are the most professional business I have ever dealt with. If they said they would phone or email at a certain time then true to their word they did. The food was amazing and many of my guests said it was the best food they had ever had. They were totally professional and just got in and found everything in my kitchen themselves without bothering me once throughout the function. When they finished my house was immaculate. The integrity of this business is outstanding as I received a text from Matthew after they left to advise me they had over catered and had left around 2 kilos of lamb in my freezer for me to use. They could have taken that with them and used it at another function as I would not have been aware, but they didn't. I would certainly recommend them to anyone as I could not fault them and I look forward to using them again many more times in the future.”

From the friendly staff, perfect service and amazing flavours of each (large) dish, to the delightfully refreshing taste of each beer, a Pineapple Daquiri and sneaky Watermelon & Mint Sparkling alcoholic water. Roy's is the secret Newcastle has been hiding. If you are looking for a chilled weekend arvo lunch, a date night with style or a dinner that will leave you full and happy you made the decision to go out for dinner, then this is the place to go. The Ribs... just wow. I have found my new favourite, value for money, superb service and amazing food restaurant. Honestly can not recommend Roy's more highly.”

“Without a shadow of a doubt, the most fantastic place I have eaten after 5 years in Newcastle. The story of Terrace is beautiful and Nic was unbelievably wonderful to us. Atmosphere was sensational, the food was completely off the charts. Fresh ingredients and incredible presentation but in terms of quality I’ve never had better. Very competitively priced but there is no competition. Terrace has quickly become my favourite place to eat and I’m excitedly anticipating my return.”

“Great variety, most burgers, wraps and rolls under 10 dollars amazing value money. The chicken schnitzel roll I received have real bacon and was reminiscent of child hood burgers HUGE. Counter and cooking service was fast efficient and polite took around 5 minutes to receive my meal and around 5 people where servers whilst waiting (the employee also seemed to remember the regulars orders) Can say I will definitely be visiting weekly”

“Unbelievably good food and service. I was passing through Newcastle last night and was recommended this joint by a friend and BOY am I glad I took the detour! The welcoming (and handsome) staff are professional and efficient job and the pizzas have perfect dough and generous, high quality toppings. It's clear that the legends working here take a lot of pride in their work. Compared to Canberra the prices here are incredible, so if you're in the area it's well worth a stop! 11/10 I'll be coming back to Newcastle soon just for another slice!”

“Una Volta is literally the best restaurant. It is seasonal, it is soul warming. My partner and I loved sharing a bottle of wine with dinner and then having a fantastic glass of limoncello with dessert. The last time I came here I had mussels, which I have never enjoyed, only to love them here. Tonight was the sardines in a tomato sauce which again, I have never before enjoyed. They were fantastic. The focaccia is always so soft and crispy, the olives are herbaceous and floral. It is so filling. While definitely a splurge for dinner, you definitely leave stuffed to the gills. I would highly recommend for candle lit date nights or an amazing night with close friends. Truly a Newcastle treasure.”

“I went here for the first time, and let me tell you! Best brisket I've ever had. This place is so much better than smokey hot and saucy. You get a wonderful portion of meet and don't feel like you're about to have a heart attack. Wonderful flavors, juicy, tender. I can't wait to try the pies when I can.”
