“Wonderful hotel! We had a balcony room overlooking the harbour. Huge bed, complimentary gin, and prompt room service. The harbar was expensive and filled with 21st birthday parties. But the atmosphere was energetic and positive. The spa was small but perfectly formed. I wasn't sure I liked the windows looking in from the street seeing us lay in our swimwear by the pool, and I didn't like the fact some guests had their phones in there. But I would certainly stay again in future! Thank you!”

“An excellent one-night stopover, for a family get-together. Our Deluxe Double room overlooked the rear garden and was cool enough even in the middle of the heatwave. It was well furnished and good value. We had a great meal in the restaurant celebrating my birthday - although food a little slow, staff were attentive and spot-on with their comments and humour. The small English Breakfast was ideally sized - all the right ingredients without feeling too full. Kim's breakfast service was sublime. The stand-out feature of this hotel are the staff who are attentive, responsive and engaging. All well selected for the right attitude and very well trained - not easy in these post-brexit times.”

“Can't recommend this hotel highly enough! Dog friendly, the staff can't do enough for you and the service is amazing! The hotel is set is stunning grounds and is a sight to see (and stay in), rooms are clean, well equipped with all you need plus those little extras you hadn't thought of! We've been here a number of times and will keep coming back!”

“I have visited a number of times but haven't stayed in the rooms yet. The place is very clean, tidy, modern and welcoming. The staff members were very friendly, helpful and approachable. The gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms are excellent. The bar and grill are very popular with guests, gym members and visitors. A very good experience.”

“Good place to stay. Right in the city but on the edge of Watts Park. Very quiet in the room. Air con was an added bonus. We didn't use the in-house restaurant as there was so much choice just a few minutes walk away. There is no car park on site but we came by train a five minute walk from the Premier Inn.”

“Basic but very clean and tidy hotel. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was better than expected and the breakfast chef was a really nice guy. Large car park and the place is easy to get to. There is a pub just across the way that does a great carvery 7 days a week too.”

“Booked a room the night before a flight. Comfortable room. Good size. Lovely deep bath too. They handled my gluten intolerance very well at breakfast and the food was very good. Everything cooked fresh for me.”

“We stayed for one night before cruising the next day then due to rail strikes we stayed for two nights after returning from our cruise. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We chose to have the meal deal which cost £24.99 each per night. For this you get a good choice of a two course evening meal, plus a drink and full english breakfast the following morning. It was excellent value for money. The service in the restaurant was as good, if not better than you would get in a much more expensive hotel. All the staff we met were very friendly and efficient. I had a problem with the hair drier not heating up and in less than 10 mins of reporting the problem I was given a replacement. It was great that we were able to drop our luggage off at the hotel before check-in time and go off for the day. We have already booked to stay there again next year before we go on our next cruise. Although not far from the town centre the location near the hotel is a bit untidy and away from the busy streets, so as an older couple I'm not sure if we would have felt comfortable walking out in the evening once it got dark.”

“We stayed over Christmas to see family. The Rooms were clean, the service was fantastic! Sam & Dominic on the bar were very helpful and great to have a chat with. Frank the breakfast chef was so helpful and lovely plus the breakfast team too. The whole team were so great from the front desk to managment. Thank you for working hard over Christmas!”

“The hotel itself is in a nice location, our interconnecting rooms which we needed due to our daughters needs were very nice, and quiet too. The beds were comfortable and the rooms facilities were nice too. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful too. In our opinion, they went above and beyond when we mentioned to them in conversation that our youngest daughter who has SEN, has always been mad on Premier Inn, and has always wanted to stay in one, They then went and collected some small bits and bobs of Premier Inn marked stuff from behind reception for her as a memento of her stay. She was over the moon with their little gifts, and beaming with happiness. A small gesture from them, which cost nothing. But means the world to our daughter and of course to us too. There is also a Hungry horse pub/restaurant next door which is also very nice. Another little bonus is that parking is free at the hotel. All in all, our stay was most pleasurable, made even more so by the very nice staff. On our experience, we would recommend a stay here, and when we are next in the area, we will book again here.”

“Thank you for a wonderful stay. The staff were totally brilliant. We forgot our conditioner, and the wonderful receptionist managed to find a bottle and delivered it to our room. We also left our swimming wiggles in the swimming pool. And realised this after it had closed. But as promised they managed to retrieve them and I pick them up from reception the next morning when I checked out at 6am. Where I met the wonderful night manager. He was excellent. My 10 year old daughter was treated to a pepper pig colouring pack, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff at this hotel are amazing. We stay here a few times a year. And this cements why we stay here! Thank you!”

“It's a great place to stay at! The rooms are cozy and clean, the food is quite nice, and the staff are excellent! It's pretty quiet in the rooms so it's great for doing study or work. The location is also convenient - after a 5 minute walk through the park you arrive in the city centre.”

“Really enjoyed my short stay here. Very good value, absolutely huge room and the Rena Spa was a much appreciated addition at no extra cost. It's in a great location. There is a cosy central lounge with free apples, newspapers, water and popcorn. The restaurants have a great variety of food available and room service is 24hrs. Checking in & out was all done online so it was an easy, hassle free stay. I will definitely book again.”

“Lovely owner who really likes the cats and has good heated (in cool weather) cages for the tennant's. Offers cats a range of good quality cat foods. Always clean when I go to drop off or collect our cat. Very happy to leave our cat there and recommend Pit Pat.”

“Buddy spent 2 nights with Zoe whilst we were at a wedding in Bournemouth this week and we couldn’t have chosen a better lady to look after our baby! Zoe was super friendly and professional. Zoe sent us regular updates - including a photo with Buddy on her lap watching TV in the evening (to show us how “at home” he was!). Zoe was also really flexible when our arrangements changed slightly meaning we had to pick him up at a different time. He also had a snooze after we picked him up (as he’d been on some lovely walks). Couldn’t recommend Zoe highly enough and we would definitely be more than happy for Buddy to go again if we needed it. Thanks Zoe xx”

“Our 4 yr old male tabby cat (Charlie) recently stayed at the cat hotel for a week. He's never stayed in a cattery before so we were all a bit nervous, but we had no other option as we were moving house at the time. I simply cannot thank Jackie and Tim enough for all of their help and reassurance during this time!! They were so warm, friendly and welcoming when I went to have a look round that I knew it was the only place I could leave Charlie for the week. I had total confidence that they would look after him very well, which they did! Despite me dropping off a very unfriendly and hissing cat, within a couple of days they had won him round and he settled in well. Didn't really bat an eyelid when we went to collect him, I think he'd rather have stayed:) the regular emails were a great comfort, along with the photos of him obviously enjoying his holiday away. “We have booked an overnight stay at the Cottage Lodge Hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary. Jackie who welcomed us on arrival was very nice, has served us very lovely tea and cake. The room we stayed in was spotless clean, with a very homey yet classy ambience. We had dinner in White Tails Restaurant and met the very friendly Ramsey, had our breakfast the next day in the same area, food and service was 100%. They have given us surprises which made our anniversary getaway even more memorable. Thank you very much, Cottage Lodge Hotel and White Tails Restaurant!”

Sue is great - she always takes the time to chat with my children, show them her own guinea pigs which my children love and is happy to offer advice if needed. “We went for afternoon tea Sandwiches were freshly made a totally delicious, generous amount of filling. Cakes made on site and were scrumpy, light and fluffy. No skimping on the cream and jam for scones. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend”
