“Myself and my husband stayed here for 5 nights .The staff (and the owners ) are very nice ,helpful(considering that was our first time in Leeds , we needed some guidance ,and got just what we needed !) The room was clean ,the area where the hotel is located is nice and quiet (if you’re looking for peace and quiet) .Free parking available too . Very close to the city (a 5min drive )15 min or so walk ,which I found great ! Gordon was our host , we’ve had lots of chats with him throughout the days,and left us with a good opinion about the city and it’s people .He also allowed us to stay in the building after the checkout ,before we left the city(considering it was a rainy day and we wouldn’t have gone until later in the day ) . We recommend the place ,money wise ,cleanliness ,and again ,if you’re looking for a quiet place !! We will be back for sure !!”

“Absolutely lovely staff - so friendly and helpful and it makes such a difference. Our room was immaculate - perfect for the nights stay. Six of us are in the restaurant and it was really nice - all in all excellent value - great location - great breakfast and brilliant staff. Thank you.”

“Great place to stay . Went to a do at the Village Hotel who were charging astronomical prices for their rooms . If I ever go there again I will always book to stay at Ascot Grange . Clean rooms , comfy beds & all you need for a nights stay .”

“It's nothing fancy. It's a couple dozen bunk beds and a unisex bathing hall on the second floor of a pub. It's cramped, slapdash, and eclectic. But I loved it. I felt safe, and I met so many personalities with so many great stories to tell. If you're a weary traveler looking for a drink, a hot shower, and a place to crash, who would prefer wholesome conversation over privacy, I'd recommend this hostel.”

“We stayed at Yella's houseboat and had a great time. The houseboat was nicely furnished, large and very comfortable. Yella was very helpful and accomodating. Would recommend. It can be hard to board the boat when the river level is quite high.”

“We arrived Saturday mid day, greeted by a lovely young man who ontriduced himself and showed us to our room, advised about pub opening times and food services, lovely cooked breakfast on both days of our stay. Great fun at pub quiz on Saturday evening with John and his speed quiz.”

“We went to the Wishing Well today for my 70th birthday that my daughter had booked. 17 adults,3 children and a baby. I was a bit apprehensive as I’d read some of the reviews about not having certain things The food not been up to scratch - greasy chips ect. All I can say is our food was perfectly fine. Considering that there was a list of different food ordered everyone enjoyed their meal. The girl on the bar serving us was very busy as she was on her own serving all 20 drinks. She really worked her socks off.and was pleasant all the time. She even helped serve out food when it was ready . Later on She even brought out my birthday cake Will be be going back”

“We stayed for two nights at Diamonds Villa, check in was done remotely over a phone call but was very quick and simple. Our room was spacious and clean, well-stocked with condiments and had a large bathroom. Was great quality for a low price. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a good, low cost room in York.”

“I like this hotel, its well worn like your favorite jumper, you just feel at home straight away! The staff,many of whom have been there for years, are friendly, helpful and welcoming! The rooms are quirky and well used but whenever I've been here they are spotlessly clean. As for the position it's 4 minutes walk into the cricket ground and up to several hours walk into Headingley depending on how many of the liquid refreshment establishments you visit!”

“Very welcoming staff. Room was very clean and tidy. Any issues were resolved very quickly. Parking has cctv for added security. Arrived a day earlier and hotel gave a reduced price for the extra night after we turned up at the door at 9pm. Highly recommended”
