Motel in Stoke

“Normally Premier Inns are so far out of town it's a pain to get anywhere, but this is actually quite close to the centre of Hanley. In addition its right by several restaurants that are thriving and busy, not even counting the Premier Inn Restaurant. It is busier here than in the centre of the town! The rooms are great - warm, cosy and thick duvets. You can't hear any noise from the busy roads outside. The only suggestion I would make for visitors is bring your own shampoo/conditioner, as Premier Inn only supplies a shower gel/shampoo 2-in-1 thing which honestly is OK as a shower gel and smells nice but honestly would not use it on my hair.”

“Well what a pleasant surprise. Major refurbishment undertaken. The rooms are fresh, warm, exceptionally clean and comfy. New walk in shower, the old dated baths have been removed although you can probably get a room with a bath but this was not needed for us. Lovely breakfast, buffet style full English, cereals, toast, coffee, juice, Danish pastries, yoghurt. Cannot fault the service, staff are very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking. Outside breakfast terrace. We had an evening meal which was really tasty and price was not too high. New bar area and seating with USB charging points. There's a spa , gym and pool but we did not use these on our visit. Lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend.”

“This hotel is set in very good location just 2/5 minutes away from the famous gardens and a really good quality single floor shopping village. Staff when booking in are very friendly with a nice coffee seating area and bar with a restaurant/breakfast area. Our disabled room was as we expected and was very spacious and clean . I would highly recommend this hotel if visiting the gardens and need a overnight stay or on route to your holiday destination as we are .”

“Excellent hotel for quick stay. Nice, clean rooms. Mo and the night duty front desk staff were amazing! They helped out with a smile even though it was very late. When I came down at 5am they were again more then happy to help! Big thanks to Mo! My different time zone meetings went well because of him!”

“Cleanliness of room was good, not exceptional. Decent room space. Comfortable bed. Amazing shower. Breakfast options were extensive, but all were cooked well and enjoyed by the whole family, whether it was the continental breakfast or the hot English style breakfast. Only criticism was we had asked for an adjoining 'Jack n Jill' bedrooms. Which we advised they had, however the reality was rooms next to each other.”

“Basic but clean rooms, amazing staff we had a problem with our booking and they sorted it for us very quickly, pet friendly. For the price you can't go wrong. Defo going again.”

“great little travellodge near stoke on trent. we were visiting Alton towers with a group and stayed here. Basic facilities but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Even though its near a busy junction there was minimal road noise or disturbance. Theres a handy little greggs and subway spot across the carpark for food in the morning before hitting the road.”

“We enjoyed our stay, it was busy due to half term break but we were still able to get a table for dinner and breakfast. The pool is a bonus but be warned, you need to book a slot in advance. Breakfast was good, busy, but there were plenty of staff to replenish supplies. We enjoyed our overnight stay and would return.”

“I do not normally leave reviews, but this is a truly exceptional hotel, the cleanliness, decoration, comfort, food, service and hospitality are the very best I have experienced. Couple this to the fine seventeenth century building and its well-kept grounds make any stay a unique experience. My wife and I enjoyed every moment and really did not want to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Adrian and Mark. If you are looking for a getaway that is elegant, peaceful and quiet you will not be disappointed.”

“Stayed here over Christmas. It was very kindly donated to "somethingtolookforwardto" for terminally ill people. I have stage 4 non smokers lung cancer and this stay was so perfect and magical. It gave me, my partner and my daughter some magical memories. Ones I'm sure they will treasure once I'm gone. We stayed in the "Cowshed" . The barn itself is so beautiful. With 2 hidden double ended baths. One outside and one in the middle of the room. The place was decorated for Christmas and it looked like something out of a Christmas movie! “Great location in Leek's conservation area. Easy to park on-site. Building in good order and with interesting history. Bedroom & bathroom well-decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Lounge area with a small bar perfect for a stiff one at the end of a day's exploring. Owner is very genial and warm. Recommended.”

“Not having stayed there, but would consider it. Everything associated with our group visit was lovely, staff polite, and efficient. The meals were lovely and plentiful, each one served nicely. A good and varied menu to please all tastes and reasonably priced. It was a very enjoyable evening”

“What a find, fantastic building and a fantastic host. Loved the overall feel of the place from booking in until we left. Continental breakfast was excellent and I could of drunk the coffee all day, it was superb. Great overall service with some very helpful knowledge of the surrounding area. We are planning our next trip already!”

“A lovely little location tucked out of the way at Alton Towers. Rooms are big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Very quiet and absolutely beautiful at night. Normally stay at Splash Landings but will only stay in the Enchanted Village from now on. Accommodation was very clean and well presented upon arrival, staff were friendly and helpful.”

“Very cozy atmosphere, tables set out really nicely. We had a selection of nibbles for lunch; pigs in blankets, chicken bites with sweet chilli dip and houmous with olives. All very tasty. The hosts were very cheerful and helpful.”

“Just exquisite. A super stay end to end. Dog friendly rooms available too! The hotel is a bit of a destination in itself with an audio tour, a bookable but complementary 'cave', gym, spa and lovely grounds to explore. Grab a special offer and its a great deal.”

“Arrived at the site to be greeted by Tim, whom showed us around the area. He kindly showed us the shower area and toilet facilities. All which where in spotless condition. Also pointed out where we could place our rubbish. The area we camped on was clean, lots of space to walk around. And they have a lovely area where they house their rescued hens. Lovely place to stay and we will definitely be back again”

“This genteel hotel sits unobtrusively on the rolling hills just south of Stoke, and calms you before you even reach the front door. The staff were the most incredibly friendly people, and accommodating to all our needs and wants (except the recipe for the oatcakes!). We checked in quickly, easily and efficiently. Our room was very comfortable, with a beautiful view from a semi-private balcony across the expansive grounds of the hotel. Dinner was amazing, the salmon en croute was delicious, and the samphire a perfect accompaniment. The crab bisque was delightful. The pork belly was sublime. The entire meal was outstanding. We slept well on a very comfortable bed in total silence. Breakfast (included) was quite amazing, with a wonderful selection of cooked food alongside a wide range of cereals, toast and spreads, and a selection of juices. The coffee was excellent. We definitely recommend the Upper House hotel to anyone looking for an old fashioned country house hotel in a quiet and elegant location. Thanks too all the staff, who made our stay all the better for their friendly and excellent service.”

“We enjoyed the 'afternoon cosy spa'. Excellent facilities, lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly. Swim up jacuzzi and mulled wine particular favourite. Inside and outside spa facilities, changing rooms excellent. Everywhere smells gorgeous. We had lunch, only a sandwich but very nice. Blueberry mocktail amazing. Will definitely return.”

“What an outstanding place. I was taken here today by a friend who had been before and said how nice it was. Nice was not the word. Excellent out standing friendly, warm cosy, serving the most amazing food. I have eaten in a long time. The attention to detail on each course served was impeccable. Hot tasty, food, full of flavour and the cheese pie was the best I’ve ever eaten. You could tell that the staff really enjoyed working there from their mannerisms teamwork and their friendly helpfulness. I felt the love between them, who they worked for, and the venue. it was very busy with a wedding going on in the next room, but that didn’t stop the five star service and even went the extra mile with no problems. The desserts were also as delicious and the whole menu looked very appetising enough for me to need to visit again to try something else. I would highly recommend this place whether it be for a special celebration or just lunch for two and even though it’s a good 30 minute travel for me I will make the journey.”
