“We have just returned from a 1 night stay at The Grand and would 100% recommend it. It is a beautiful place in a fab location! The staff were all lovely. It was very clean. The cocktails were delicious! The room was perfect for us and some really nice personal touches to celebrate my partner's birthday. We would definitely return. Thankyou :)”

“I booked through Groupon we have just recently got married and this was paid for from a friend as a wedding present. The afternoon tea and prosecco was lovely and Joseph's the manger upgraded us to the bootham suite when checked in which was a lovely touch .we loved the room very spacious and clean. The breakfast was great we will definitely be back fantastic stay thanks Amanda and phil jolly x”

“Staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and had everything we needed. Hotel itself is situated a 10 minutes walk into centre plenty of parking. Breakfast was an easy grab and go which is convenient if your in a hurry and price was good for area.”

“I stayed at this hotel for a conference but I’d be happy to stay there for any reason. The room was perfect, the communal areas were even better. The food was sublime and the catering for the conference was as good as restaurant food. The best thing about this hotel was the staff, they were friendly and attentive. 100% recommend. The car park is a little expensive so plan in advance and don’t get caught out.”

“A 5 day Christmas getaway to York by train made this Premier Inn an easy choice. A short walk from the train station with the facility to leave my luggage, ensuring I could make the most of my arrival and departure days. You know what you're getting with Premier Inn and South Blossom Street was no different. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable double bed, clean room with TV, free WiFi (upgradeable if required), Desk and Chair, sofa bed, kettle, mugs, glasses, as much tea, coffee,  sugar  and milk as you require, en-suite with bath and shower over. Towels, soap, and shower gel provided. Rooms cleaned, and  towels changed at your request. Plenty of power sockets are available for all your electrical gadgets. I also noticed an HDMI port to connect to the TV. Keycard system in use allowing guest only access 24/7. There was a Table Table Restaurant at this Premier Inn, which I did not use.”

“One of the best sleeps I've ever had! Both me and my partner had to ask what type of mattress they use as we are certainly buying one!! Location was brilliant, close enough to walk comfortably but far enough away from the chaos (we went at Christmas time). Definitely would stay again”

“There are some very mixed reviews for this hotel but we had no issues at all. The room was easily the largest Premier Inn room we've stayed in, the corridors are wide enough to drive a car through and everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was aircon which we didn't use, a rainfall shower, plenty of TV channels to choose from and a fairly reliable if somewhat slow Internet. The only slight negative was the price of the car park at £14 per night but that's about the going rate in York where everything is expensive. We would be very happy to stay there again and would recommend it.”

“Went to the Red Lion for food today and it was absolutely indredible! We all had Sunday dinners - I got a chicken dinner and it was one of the best I've had. Everything cooked to perfection! Everyone's food looked incredible and the portions were really generous. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the service was brilliant. The pub has a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!”

“Very friendly staff and clean warm rooms. Easy to walk into York and pretty quiet at night. Didn't eat in the restaurant although that appeared to be popular at breakfast and was good value. Parking is free until 5pm on your departure day which is another bonus. Definitely recommended.”

“Very good base for York City Centre. We stayed for 1 night whilst visiting lots of the tourist attractions. Lovely modern room and facilities. Pool was an added bonus and the water was lovely and warm. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice. The only negative is that you can't check in until 4.30pm which is quite late.”

“We used the Marriott for a Wake and the service and food was brilliant. Amber was extremely helpful right from my first email enquiring about using the venue to the actual day. Nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea was enjoyed by everyone and the waiting staff on the day were very helpful. I would highly recommend the Marriott for a Wake or event.”

“Really lovely old feeling hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was stunning making you feel like you stepped back in time. Bathroom with the jacuzzi tub and huge walk in shower was amazing. Deffintatly will stay again.”

“We stayed here for 1 Night to enjoy the Christmas Markets. This hotel is in the perfect location and you can get to York town centre in less than a 5/10 minute walk. The hotel was easy to find and they offer a small convenient car park facility. Staff were all very welcoming and very friendly. We stayed in one of the hotels newly refurbished Superior rooms with Cathedral view and it was beautiful. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the room offered complimentary bottled water and biscuits and handy tea and coffee making facilities and the bathrobes and slippers were also a lovely added touch. I have stayed in a few hotels in the Uk and having a Smart TV with access to Google Chromecast is an absolute winner so having this in our room was great after a busy day shopping. We did only stay Room only so couldn’t comment of the Breakfast. Overall we had an amazing stay and will be back again really soon.”

“In a Premier plus room, but because of the size of the building they are not as good as other Plus rooms. The staff were marvelous on reception and preparing and serving breakfast. The location is great for both York itself and travelling further afield to the coast or other places of interest.”

“Ideally located, although the entrance off the main road could do with street lights as it is difficult to see in the dark. Maybe some speed humps too as people do drive down pretty fast, and when you have small children it can be dangerous. Staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent service. Rooms are pretty clean, maybe the odd cobweb in a corner but that's not a problem. Clean bedding and towels, comfy beds. And you hardly notice the traffic noise on the nearby A64. Will definitely stay there again”

“Good location with lots of free parking. Only a mile out of the city centre with a few bus stops on the main road. Lots of pubs, shops and petrol stations nearby. Very affordable at £70 per night plus £12 pp for breakfast if booked in advance. Rooms are decent and well sized with good showers. There's heating and air conditioning with openable windows. They could do with better contractors tho as the repairs I've seen were shocking, cowboy level. All the staff were very nice, polite and helpful. The restaurant is ok. Food is basic but good but fairly expensive for what it is. However the breakfast buffet is really good with lots of variety. I preferred it here compared to Premier Inn. This is a good affordable place for a short stay or on a tight budget. I'd happily stay here again.”

“I read all the reviews. I arranged my own parking from just park parking app so this cut that element of stress. Now onto the hotel. What a lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and the surroundings are authentic. We did a murder mystery night and was great fun. Food was lovely and I 100% return. If you have the opportunity book this hotel.”

“What can I say, we had an absolutely lovely time in an absolutely lovely apartment. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness, well after the amazing mural on the livingroom wall. I am terrified of spiders and was a bit worried about the beams, but there was no need. The high ceilings down to the floorboards were cobweb free! The kitchen is well equipped and oven easy to use. All the conveniences you could need, besides a freezer, but that was no loss. The livingroom is comfortable with a large smart TV and the bed was very plush without being too soft. The bathrooms (yes 2) were quirky and a bit on the small side but we guessed this is due to load bearing walls or renovation restrictions. Nonetheless they were ample for need. Showers were great pressure and temperature. And they even had automatic lights so no bumping your toes in the dark. We had a great time and will book again if we come back. NB: check your email the morning of arrival for "check-in" instructions.”

“I always enjoy Premier Inn and this one didn't disappoint. Friendly staff on reception an immaculate room and the luxury of a bath to soak in. I think the only thing I'd change is to have a plug for a phone charger at the bed head but that's being picky. Free car park was good. I'll visit again next time I have business in York.”

“Myself, my wife and our 16 year old son had a very pleasant one night stay here. The hotel is located only a short walk from the city centre and there is a good car park 100 yards away. £13 per 24hrs and you pay on exit. The hotel and room was clean and the staff were friendly. There is also a Wetherspoon directly beneath the hotel, so you're sorted for breakfast/cheap food and drinks if that is your desire. Would definitely stay again.”

“The hotel is excellent value for money. The location is perfect because it is within walking distance to most places you’d visit in York, but at the same time, far enough to have silence at night. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly too.”

“Had a fantastic weekend here, everything is spotless and the rooms are high quality. The staff can't do enough to help you, especially Jeff who checked us in early, gave us a complementary welcome drink, and was so friendly! Breakfast had so much choice and was delicious!
