"Took over a year for them To fix my front window that had a crack from corner to corner due to the sun zero temps last winter… they “fixed it” by taking a window from an empty apartment. I have seen needles and foils on the ground and maintenance unwilling to clean them up. There is zero staff on site besides two or three maintenance guys and only one of them actually gets stuff done. I really hoped this place was gonna be out long term spot until we bought a home. Not anymore we even gave them a second chance and signed a second lease which we regret now. Do your research before you move into this complex."
"Wow! What a dump! And is only getting worse! Originally paid 1050 for a 2 bed. Now for the same apartment! nothing new, same old carpet from 20 years ago, same ac that's just as old as the carpet, an un remodeled 2 bedroom $1700The laundry room is disgusting and filthy with machines broken, pool is cleaned once when it is open in the summer, water is shut off every week for every building for maintenance, the parking lot has more holes then the moon. Trash and broken glass left in lot/ grass for over 3 weeks. Complained about mold and 2 months later they drop stuff off at my doorstep for me to do the work!?! Really i pay that much to do my own maintenance. I understand that rent will always go up but for 600 youd think they would have done something to actually justify why i pay more for the same thing and have worse conditions.it's bad business and shame on the management amd owners. Save your hard earned money and spend a lil extra for the apartments around this one that are updated with new things for this price and well maintained. Cause it's not The Iris"
"I have lived here for a long time, but for a few months now the laundry room is very neglected and dirty, always with water on the floor, the water runs out and leaves everything full of water. I have to pay attention to where I step so I don't fall and get my clothes wet from the dirty water on the floor. And the worst thing is that I have to think about what shoes to wear so as not to get them wet...!!! Today my shoes absorbed the water because there was nowhere to step and it was dry, do I have to wear rain boots just because they don't maintain them? Here she left some photos so you can see that I am not exaggerating. Please fix this now!"
"Someone in a neighboring unit would not stop smoking inside so my entire apartment smelled like cigarettes when I lived there. The vinyl “wood” flooring was also installed poorly so there were lots of dips in my flooring. They did the landlord special as well frequently painting over everything so my cabinets never shut completely and all the doors would get suck in the jam. Also be careful because your car will get broken into and/or stolen."
"FYI: This is Mesa Verde, they're the same place. The complex used to be pretty infamous but got new owners this past year, so they're playing a minor Google switcheroo. That said, I gave it a shot and moved in around February, and I really enjoyed the place when I first got here, despite rampant crime in the surrounding area. (My car got jacked within a week of moving in, no joke.) Despite the area's issues, it felt like things were turning around, and the people in the office were really cool, transparent, and willing to work with you. They were clearly doing their best and seemed to have our best interest in mind. It was nice, and a cool change of pace! I figured I'd want to stay here long-term for once, and that's an exciting prospect as an American renter in 2023. Lately, though? Things have been getting... weird. Really weird. Very sporadic communication, lots of policies changing with no notice... Feels like some shakeups are happening with the property management company (Liv Lavender, aka VareCo). They permanently closed the on-site office a month or so ago with no signage or notice except for a strange, severely-misspelled email that I'm pretty sure was written by an AI, and now all issues have to be routed through a phone line. This complex consists of *six* full three-story buildings, so it's really weird not to have anyone on-site whatsoever. As for the phone line we now have to rely on, they're... pretty soulless, to say the least. One of the worst experiences I've had with a landlord's office in my life. I don't want to get into it much, but I feel like the person I spoke with made their decision from minute 1, and spent the next 120 minutes trying to find any way possible to work backwards to excuse it. Blaming me for things out of my control, misleading me about records we both had access to, veiled threats, unveiled insults... It was nuts. Eventually, they resorted to legalese to make it clear the discussion was Over and never really a negotiation to begin with. (All over $75, lol.) It was a very, very difficult conversation, and a complete 180 from the personable and reasonable attitudes that I became used to and had greatly appreciated. It actually really messed me up for a bit. Ultimately, I really wanted to stay here long-term and things started out looking promising, but the owners seem to be transforming into stereotypical landlords very, very quickly. I don't know what's going on, but I don't think I'll be staying when my lease is up."
