"The general clinic gets a good rating. I've visited a couple of times and the staff have been pleasant and helpful. However there are no *mental* health specialists available. Fortunately, there are *behavioral health* specialists available, but I have learned that the behavioral lens can interfere with effective treatment of non-behavioral issues. Since I am struggling with the impacts of my mental health diagnoses (not my behavioral health) and I didn't understand the difference, my attempts to receive mental health assistance actually worsened my mental health for a bit. As far as talk therapy goes, the first therapist I saw lied to me during the session (a highly triggering experience for me), then, at the end of the session, told me that he wouldn't see me until I was medicated. I then saw a medication based therapist who refused to prescribe medications that have worked for me in the past (because he didn't want to prescribe them "right away") and provided an alternative prescription (designed for a different diagnosis). When I expressed concern that the prescription has a higher likelihood of negative side effects when taken with an OTC I was taking (to help manage my mental health), he was incredibly dismissive, suggesting that I was uninformed. Desperate for help, I took the prescribed medicine anyway. When I reported a bad reaction to the prescription (lack of REM sleep, high anger levels, and skin rash), the therapist seemed to dismiss my concerns as dissatisfaction with the slow release aspect of the medication. The medication therapist first stated he would prescribe a mood stabilizer to counteract the reported side effects, then, a few minutes later, dropped me as a patient instead. I'm grateful as I now know that the medication he was going to add would have actually exacerbated some of my symptoms even more. I'm still hopeful that I can get assistance from a behavioral talk therapist, and I've been on a wait list for a different talk therapist about 6 months. The world needs more Native healers, especially mental health healers."
"This place is pretty USELESS. Tons of office staf and NO ONE does anything!! Only good thing about this clinic is its easy to get my rx filled & refilled. The xray dept is great but over all care and the ability of certain staff to help with your needs is lacking in the medical dept. If you can get help elsewhere please do."
"No dentist available especially when emergency issues only dental hygienists. Not able to do any dental work other then cleaning and referrals out to off property. It takes forever to get referrals mean while patients suffer until then. While they waste your insurance."
"Very Grateful for the Dental Dept. wonderful staff and dentists and they go the extra mile to provide me and my family with beyond 5 Star care. Thank you all very much I can smile again!"
"I am so very grateful for the Tribal Health Center. I broke my neck severely 11 years ago. I've had 6 surgical fusions to my neck and upper back. I suffer a seizure condition and have high blood pressure and heart irregularity. For 5 years I've been treated by Dr. Alegre. Dr. Nielsen for about 2 years. Since seeing Dr. Alegre my life has changed drastically. He treats my chronic pain, seizures, heart/blood pressure. He took notice that I was struggling with depression and suggested that I see a councilor within the clinic. I took his advice and have been seeing Dr. Nielsen who has helped me so much. Thanks to these two doctors, I have a life again. I use to be very depressed because of my chronic pain and limitations on what I can do. Now my my pain is tolerable and I have a very positive outlook for my future. Thank you RSTHC for having such fine Doctors available to me through the clinic. Life is truly wonderful now. I was a complete mess when crawled through those front doors the first time. Now I walk in and out proudly and with a smile. The staff here has been very accommodating, professional, and courteous to me. Jesse James Green"
