"The inn is a bit off the road, you'll need to find it. But, once you do, it's incredibly charming, very well decorated. The staff to each person is genuinely friendly, especially the wonderful woman in the breakfast area. Merrimans, Red Water Cafe are among the nicest fine dining restaurants on the Island and are in walking distance. The Brewhaus is also a must eat at, make sure to eat the fried pickles there. This feels like a luxury hotel, but reasonably priced. The effort to make guests feel good is intentional and appreciated. Be sure to close windows at night unless you like Roosters and frogs which are inescapable on the island, bring earplugs if necessary... and close windows at night. There is a powerful fan in room that will keep you cool. I've already referred two couples to stay. Will most definitely come back. Very close to world famous Hapuna and Makena beach, and the drive around the mountain and ocean to Hawi is NOT TO BE MISSED. Great shops, food nearby."
"We've stayed here twice now and really like this place. Our visit this year was cut to one night due an airplane problem in Denver, and we were disappointed because we really wanted to spend two nights. The rooms aren't fancy but clean and neat. They feel like old west but are modern and updated. I especially liked the large tiled shower stall. There's no AC but it's really not needed at 2500 ft. The breakfast is good and one can eat in a little garden-like area out behind the breakfast room if desired. The Waimea "upcountry" area is an interesting part of Hawaii, but you're only 20 minutes from very nice beaches if that is desired. The hotel is a block off the main road, but there are some early-rising roosters in the vicinity! We hope to return to Kamuela Inn."
"This place is adorable! The rooms are comfortable and homey. They offer a nice breakfast spread with a variety of choices (we were particularly fond of the fresh baked blueberry muffins!) The staff are fantastic and truly made for a great stay."
"The best place in Waimea that I've had the opportunity to stay in multiple times. The staff is extremely polite with so much aloha. My favorite parts are the warm breakfasts that are included from 7-9am and their scones! They provide luxurious and locally owned shower products, I loved them so much I now buy them for my own home! I always enjoy staying in the units with a small kitchen, it's perfect for those who don't want to go out to eat the entire time. Long story short... this is wonderful and cozy place to stay and the best in Waimea!"
