"Cabins are huge! We had a fireplace, two bedrooms - each furnished with a full size bed and a bunk bed. Pull out couches in the living room. Big kitchen with two refrigerators and a commercial stove and sink. Bring your own bedding, toiletries. food, towels, etc. No Wi-Fi or TV up there. The dirt road leading to the cabin is narrow and very, very bumpy. Be forewarned. Grounds are well maintained. Caretaker was very friendly. Do a good job of cleaning the cabin at checkout, you're also expected to take all your trash with you upon leaving."
"Beware of their lack of information on the website which says “walk ins are usually accommodated” I assure you this is not the case. Me and the wife arrived in Kauai with tent and camping gear just to find out Camp Sloggett is not allowing any camping for the entire month of January due to a “business decision.” Absolutely nothing was posted online about this, and the only way we found out was when we called the morning of arrival to check in. Absolutely screwed up our plans, and we had to scramble and fork out tons of money to stay in a hotel. BEWARE."
"One of the most amazing camps in Kokee! Been a favorite since childhood . The firepit is such an amazing feature !!"
"We camped here with a small tent. Beautiful lush campsites, next to a small stream. Best facilities we've had on any campground in Hawaii so far - the hot showers really make it worth the $20 a night and provide better value than the nearby Koke’e state campground in my opinion. Also managed by a very friendly caretaker who's more than willing to advise on hiking trails or to just have a chat. You have to be able to drive the 0.5 mile dirt road, which wasn't a problem for our small SUV, and shouldn't be for most cars as the road was recently fixed."
"We were expecting to walk-in for tent camping (which according to the website "can usually be accommodated"), arrived late at night and to our surprise the whole site was closed with absolutely no one there (no mention of it being closed on the website). We had to backtrack through the painful dirt road back to town to find a last minute place to stay for the night. Do not go without calling first to make sure it's actually open! Also the website need to be updated with days & hours of operation."
