"I lived here for over 3yrs and it was just an ‘ok’ apartment. There are 3 total apartments: A, B, & C. Now over the course of my time here, the neighbors were great, we had did Halloween together and more. There was never an issue at all with the neighbors. The apartment I was in though had major issues, mainly related to the insulation (I’ll cover that last). So, the place was 2 levels with 1.5 baths and that was great. However, due to the size it’s really small for 2 people in my mind so it’s better suited for 1 person. There are 2 balconies which is cool but the top balcony is really only good to look at the stars as you can’t really see much else. The kitchen is probably the most updated kitchen I’ve seen when looking at multiple BSB properties, so that’s good too. Now the upstairs main bath is a great size and is great. The downstairs bathroom is super small but it does it’s job as functioning has a half bath. Now the insulation: the upstairs in the summer is always hot (which makes it fine for winter though) so you have to keep the AC on a cool setting or it’s going to be hot up there when you go to sleep. The downstairs is generally hot in the summer too, that’s because of the old windows with gaps, the balcony door with gaps, and gaps between the floor board and the wall. You can feel air coming through so before I left I tried my best to seal them with insulation but it only helped a little. This also means in the winter it is ALWAYS freezing downstairs and the only way to make it manageable is to winterize the windows and along the side of the balcony door (by the hinges) and really any where you feel a breeze. The steps leading from the front door to the apartment are always cold and in the winter, freezing. I believe there’s little to no insulation there but I never suspected the cold air coming up to the living room…but it did make the half bath very cold. If BSB would fix the insulation issues and the ventilation issues (you can smell cooking odors from the first floor apt in the upstairs bathroom for some reason) this place would be a far better place to live. Adding to this, there’s no storage area like a basement either so if you have a lot of stuff then this might not be the place for you. Also if you’re going to be working from home or be staying home a lot, I would not live in the apartment I was in as it’s not fun always freezing or sweating year round."
