The Icon

"Whatever you do, do not live here!! Here is a breakdown of what I experienced in my two years living at The Icon. Roaches, roaches, roaches. Broken dishwasher when I moved in. Half the laundry machines don’t work. Broken down equipment in fitness center. Computer lab has ONE working computer. They used to offer free printing as a perk and now it’s 19 cents per page. Pipe burst and water flooded the entire wing of my apartment area- took four hours for someone to come help after I called repeatedly. People always smoke weed and it fills the halls yet they claim to be a drug free complex. People don’t clean up after pets so there is piles of poop everywhere in the lounge area. Parking Garage doors are always broken and my car was broken into. Items stolen while I was on a two week vacation—icon did not reimburse me nor seem to care to clean up the broken glass all over the garage for weeks after the incident occurred. They lied to me saying they were watching camera footage for suspicious behavior and then four days later said they cannot view more than 72 hours. When I threatened to call the higher out management, they said, good luck we have attorneys and you’ll never win. Homeless people everywhere. Website says they have onsite security and night patrol, they don’t. Doors that are supposed to be locked aren’t which makes it accessible to anyone. Drugged out people roam the parking garage at all hours. My shower never had hot water in the morning unless I ran the water for 30 plus minutes. Household furniture in poor condition. They are NOT in the office during all office hours. They come in when they want and don’t when they don’t want to without always posting a sign as to why. This occurred on the day I found out my car was broken in to. Not one person ever came to the office when the hours were supposed to be 12-5. The electricity went out and all the doors were unable to be locked or accessed since everything runs on a key fob. I couldn’t go to work because my car was locked in the parking garage. Trash rooms reek and are always overflowing. I’ve had several packages taken due to delivery drivers sometimes just leaving packages on the ground by the mailboxes. Very loud neighbors and music and kids running around at all hours of the night. I’ve complained multiple times about the doors being broken but no one in the office has put a mission to fix it. There is a fence that encloses the complex but people use their hand to unlock it from the outside. Email saying there was firearm discharge which resulted in a fatal injury. Another email about a stabbing incident. I could go on and on, but I will stop."

"I love the Icon, The new management with Suzanne and Arjun ( don't know if I spelt this correctly) please forgive me. They're amazing. I hope they stay and no other management comes. They're honest,sweet and super nice. I have been in high spirits since they came,and the apartments are lovely, It's so homey,I love my space so much and I love the maintenance,I remember my fridge not cooling at some point and I got a whole brand new refrigerator in less than 24hours, God bless the new management. Looking for a place to stay,with maximum comfort, closeness to school, Starbucks, chipotle Mexican grill,snarf sandwiches and still very affordable for a student? Choose Icon. You'll be glad you did."

"Moving here it was the worst decision I ever made! No one will trying to solve your problems, they just only deliver the massages. And please remember that “ they can do whatever they want based on the contract “ and that’s the original words from the manager who said to me. All the people I know are trying to move out after the contract ends, I guess you will have so many options for choosing the unit next year!!! Good luck !!!"

"There are some bad reviews. Especially about carpet and cleanliness. I was nervous about that. It looks like the carpet is all gone now. There are some study rooms that are being worked on. The office staff are friendly. It is a quiet place to live. So far, so good."

"HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!! I wish I can rate 0 stars!! This place is awful to live in, trash is piled up for days which attracts gnats and rodents, laundry room is never clean and tenants touch others clothes. Our toilet was backed up and toilet water overflowed all into the halls and even the rooms, they came days later and sucked up the water but never throughly cleaned it which is a health hazard. Work orders ignored and maintenance was understaffed. Not mention we had strangers knocking on our door in the middle of the night and management did nothing about it. PLEASE DONT LIVE HERE!!"
