Winston Churchill Apartments 5475 Cabanne Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63112

"I moved in August 2019 and left December 2023. This was my first apartment but i was desperate and naive. Signed my lease before seeing my unit, once I got the keys and did a “tour” saw a roach in the kitchen on the sink! I treated my apartment twice before moving anything in. Saw a roach here and there and then didn’t see them again for a while. Car window was broken once by thieves. Guest car was broken into twice! Had to replace the windows each time. Saw over 6 different property managers and 4 different maintenance men over the course of the time i lived here. The elevators are down frequently. Man tried to break into my home once at 4 am and the police never came! Security officer did not answer phone. The crime rate in the area is terrible, a man was killed in the park across the street and i witnessed two shootings on the parking lot. There have been physical and verbal fights among neighbors also multiple times. I had a neighbor who constantly fought her guest and made noises at all time of the night and nothing was ever done until she didn’t pay her rent on time. I didnt have any hot water my last three weeks because we had no maintenance man to come and fix the issue. Many people are evicted and their units have been abandoned and since they don’t clean them out they have a HUGE roach infestation. There are also annoying stray cats that are outside of the building that will try to run in and follow you to your apartment. I also had mold growing in a closet and on my living room wall. I would not suggest moving here unless you are desperate! the units are nice and affordable but this should be your LAST OPTION!"

"The living conditions are terrible. There had been no maintenance in almost a year. High priority concerns of fixes due to lack of maintenance aren’t being met. Property mangers are being severely and poorly treated by corporate. Some property managers have resigned due to lack of safety and deadly threats due to tenants frustration and tensions are very high. We have an high level on Infestation of bed bugs. The Corporate are using cheap contractors that are Poorly treating the building for roaches/pest, and fixing minor things, instead of focusing on major, fixes that is a safety hazard to the tenants that are occupying units. There has been an Increased/ spreading of infestation of pest due to unclean vacant units due to multiple evictions and lack of staff in the building. The building hasn’t been restored to safety standards after fire that occurred on February 22,2023. Corporate in-spite of these conditions that they are aware of are forcing property managers in below average and not meeting state inspections standard to still advertise this property on the market for further tenant to move in. I highly do not recommend no one moving in until this property is in average to good standing or have this place shut down."

"What ever you do do not move into these apartments they are mold infested , my apartment has so much mold in it & no one has offered to compensate me for the clothes I lost or even half off rent this is a disgusting environment to live in !"

"Elevators don't often work or pressing 5th floor says 3rd floor instead. Difficulty parking and turn around especially from front which isn't handicap accessible from the side that has parking lot is handicap accessible. Park next to it is nice not advisable to walk through at night even with police camera in place and lightly lit up walking path. Half building water pressure is terrible. Nice view of city in higher floors. Kids play in front area and they have internal security occasionally and there's laundry mat onsite and a meeting area for about 30."

"This apartment complex may not seem to be in the best area of town, but it is beautiful! The apartments are so nice, and everyone in the building is friendly. It is well managed and problems are taken care of in a timely fashion. It is also very affordable! I would highly recommend for anyone that is looking to move into the Saint Louis area."
