"We had not stayed at this hotel before, no warm welcome-rather I was tossed a stack of papers to “take one” and read. Room was over heated and you can’t control heat-be careful there are no screens on windows. After swimming, turned the water on for the bath and the water was brown, turned yellow and green after running the water for 20 minutes. My husband took this issue to the front desk & was told they could take care of parking for our stay but nothing else they could do for the night-never offered a new room. The girl told us a manager will be in by 9am the next day. That same night,10pm packed up our family to find a shower off the hotel property. After a horrible night of packing, unpacking & buying clean water to brush teeth, we had to wait to speak with management until 9am the next day. To later find out that management was not in until 11am. And since we had booked through Expedia the girl told us to contact Expedia. Mind you no one or maintenance came to look at the problem. Expedia would not help us with this issue either. We had a two night stayed booked, packed up & went home to be told “there is nothing they can do”. We had paid for a product & could not use all of the amenities it had offered and was not offered another option. We are out money, our vacation, and pissed of kids. I would never stay here again due to the failed customer service, lack of amenities that a hotel offers, and taking our money."
"Do Not Stay Here!! You have been warned. Our room never got below 82 degrees. They told me parking was $16 per day and they charged me $24 per day. The refig froze all our leftovers. No housekeeping services. Our bathtub was dirty with hair in the sink. Basically the worst hotel experience you could imagine. Plus we were here for a Mayo visit, very stressful. Please stay anywhere else in Rochester, you will thank me."
"Worked with a couple front desk people. One didn't seem to want to be there. The other was all smiles and willing to help. Bathroom wasn't clean. Lot of stuff on the bathroom floor. Door to the bathroom was VERY narrow. This hotel is close to the Mayo Clinic and I saw a number of wheelchairs in the hotel. Not a single one could come close to fitting through the bathroom doorway. Took a shower one night and as soon as I turned on the water, the drain stopper closed. I wish I had a screwdriver with me, as it was VERY hard to open the drain. First time took about ten seconds to get it open. Second time took about 30 seconds and I thought I had cut my hand. The bed was quite hard. Fortunately I brought my own pillow. First night, not much sleep. Second night, much better, but because I was so tired. There was one chair in the room, to use at the "desk". Wish there was one other one. Two people, one has to sit on the bed. TV was a good size. Didn't watch much, but it worked fine when we did. The one plus with the location is that it was right next to the Mayo Clinic, where I had to go for a number of appointments. Next time I'm at Mayo and have to stay in a hotel, it won't be The Kahler "Grand (HA!) Hotel"."
"Terrible reservation process and front desk staff working at the moment. I’ll update after the stay because maybe the room and sty will redeem how I feel right now. Front desk person repeats my full credit card number over the phone twice for anyone to hear. They send me a credit card authorization form with the wrong guest name. I call to confirm that I am paying for the correct guest but had to hold for over 20 minutes with the line just ringing. Day shift seems absolutely clueless on how to provide acceptable customer service."
"Stayed here a few months ago and was in a new remodeled room I assume. It had a beautiful bathroom and glass shower. Well fast forward to today. I’m here for surgery next door and was super excited about the shower… well we got what I’d call not a remodeled room. The shower head barely goes over my head and I’m 5’6”. I didn’t have enough room to wash my hair comfortably with a broken elbow. Not to mention my 6’2” boyfriend was getting a chest shower…. The toilet isn’t wanting to flush right this minute. And they told me all the shower heads are the same height.( well from my memory the one last time was not this low). But they can’t do anything for us till the morning when a supervisor is here………."
