Motel 6 Rochester, MN

"We were going to stay here but when we went to pay we found out that although it was supposed to be "pet friendly", there was a $25 "deposit" for pets. I asked about the returned on the deposit and was informed that there is no refund. That is NOT a 'deposit' that is a fee. The area that the hotel is in is kind of sketchy as well. We decided to stay at the AmericInn instead. Good choice. Better, safer, location. Great breakfast. Hot tub, pool, awesome breakfast, and was actually cheaper as they don't charge extra for a dog."

"Don’t do it. Booked because it was pet friendly, but left and found another hotel. It was so sketchy we felt so unsafe! There were a lot of weird people hanging around and homeless sleeping on the sidewalks. My husband was thinking he’d have to sleep in the car so no one would try to break in. We said forget it and the money we payed snd went back to a better area of town."

"We booked a room because it was cheap. In short-the first room we got smelt so strongly of cigarettes we requested a new room. The staff were great and gave us a new room. Second room didn’t have a lock. There was also old pizza crust and a dirty cup on the window sill."

"The only good thing about this experience was the staff at the desk on the night of 5.12.2023. This room was cheap so we didn't expect a lot. But we did expect basic cleanliness and security. The first room stunk and the air vent was covered in dust, so even if we wanted to try to get fresh air in the room, we wouldn't have been able too. We requested another room and that room also smelt bad, had moldy food in the garbage, a dirty plastic cup on the window and no lock on the door. We did not end up staying the night as were did not feel safe without a lock on our door. The staff took my name and number and told me the manager would be in contact with me the next day. It has been 7 days and I am now having an incredibly hard time getting ahold of management. I have called multiple times and left messages with the staff behind the desk but I am yet to speak with the only manager who can approve refunds. 1/5 stars, and the one star is for the staff behind the desk the night of, I wouldn't recommend this Motel 6 to anyone."

"I stayed here on October 31st. I will never stay here again. The front desk clerk was great. No complaints there. My issue is housekeeping must be blind. Literally. The floor was dirty, to the point you need to either wear shoes or destroy your socks. I didn't want to use the temperature control unit in the room because the fins were filthy. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was caked in dirt. The sink surround caulk had holes in it. The shower floor was cracked. This was supposed to be the first of two separate stays. I literally canceled my next reservation while in the room. I understand this is a cheaper, no frills motel, which is all I needed, but the room should be clean. I will post pictures if I am able to."
