"I had high hopes for this as the location to mayo is right across the street, but that wasn’t enough to get us to stay. The light in the bathroom wouldn’t stay on, bedding hadn’t been changed in who knows how long, the door was busted on the bottom and the frame, the sink leaked. The room was uncomfortably cold. The entire experience was terrible. We checked out the next day and found a better hotel a few blocks down the road."

"I had previously written several messages to the hotel regarding my negative experience. After several tries, I finally received a response. I was undergoing medical evaluation at Mayo during October. I am an 85 yo senior, handicapped, traveling alone. During my first night at the hotel, I left my purse in the hotel restaurant. When I retrieved it the next day, all of the money….$400.00… had been taken. I was left with one dollar. The manager showed me footage which showed the waitress picking up my purse and placing it at the end of the bar. This puzzled me. Why did she put it there? The front deck clerk said it was found on top of a trash can by the elevator. She also said money was intact. Not so. The hotel did absolutely nothing to find what happened. I was told in the response message that they were sorry the hotel didn’t meet my expectations. HUH?. Expectations?.. After having all my money taken and talking about expectations. I have stayed in hotels all over the world. This rates as the worst."

"Have stayed here twice in the last 2 years. Both times we rented 2 rooms. The rooms were clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the toaster, coffee pot and fridge were all clean and in good condition. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Will be back in March for more treatments and will definitely stay here again."

"I do not recommend stay here even though it’s in close proximity to Mayo Hospital. I could not get the room warm, the heating barely heats up and constantly runs. The toilet had to be flushed multiple times because the toilet paper wouldn’t flush. You don’t get room service on a daily basis. The only time house keeping comes by is after you check out or you call front desk. My friend had an emergency and the doctor kept her over. I didn’t know when the doctor would release her. I was told they have a 24-hour cancellation notice. Now we’re being charged for an extra night that we will not be here. My friend had an after surgery emergency and we didn’t know when she would be going home. Most Hotels have a 24-hour notice for checking in or cancellation of rooms. This hotel changes $102 dollars per night. If you get a special through 3-parties and something comes up and you have to stay longer, you don’t get the special rate to extend."

"The only thing the Kahler Inn & Suites has going for them is convenience to the Mayo clinic. The room was freezing cold. Getting warm water in the sink and shower was almost impossible. The water backed up in the tub. We called for maintenance to check on the room temp, but he couldn't speak English and didn't solve the problem. He was nice and I think he truly wanted to help, but couldn't. I will say the bed was comfortable though. Upgrades are definitely needed! Front staff personnel was nice. You'd think they could at least have a pot of coffee and water available in the lobby. They do have a mini coffee pot in the room, but it wasn't great coffee. We've stayed here in years past and it's been much better."
