"We sued them and won. DO NOT LIVE HERE- SLUMLORDS!!!!! No one was assigned to our application, had to show up in person twice to get a lease. They swindled us on the wrong unit and were ghosted every single time we reached out to resolve the MULTITUDE of issues with the unit we were given. Water leaks, ROACHES (extreme), doorknob on the front door fell off and wasn’t resolved for days, electrical outlets that didn’t work, if you can imagine it- Avana had it. The property manager (Laura) threatened to kill us if we shared her phone number, and despite having documentation that Avana made and gave us that listed the exact unit we applied for- Avana was completely unable to remedy the situation. There’s a 7-10 day policy in your lease to leave said lease and they ghosted us on that notice. We had a lawyer reach out to negotiate, they ghosted us. They didn’t even show up to court (we won, and would like our money back now fyi @management) and Greystar is currently being investigated for colluding with other property management companies in AZ for inflating rent prices. I REPEAT, DO NOT LIVE HERE. Scammers and liars."
"Edit: The office just called me and harassed me because I left a bad review. Gate is still broken 3/1/24 There has been a large number car break-ins and they still refuse to fix the gate. The water cuts off too much. They are reactive in their issues when they should be proactive. I must share my recent experiences living here with complete honesty. Over the past month, we've had our water supply disrupted twice. One pipe bust and another unknown. Adding to the frustration, our unit has felt more like a construction zone than a home, all due to the negligence of the staff. While the office staff is friendly, it's a shame that this doesn't translate into a well-maintained living environment. Considering these issues, I strongly recommend exploring alternative housing options. A dorm room might just offer a more reliable and peaceful living situation. Your comfort and convenience are worth prioritizing."
"Unfortunately, the only way to get a response from management at this property is if you leave a bad review.. so here I am, again. Once again this property has been terrible with communication. Management is NEVER on the same page. This is the second time I have received multiple emails about a charge that I should not have. Its crazy, because whenever residents need assistance its a ghost town.. but when the property needs something they harass the residents. Seeing the other reviews just confirms that I am not crazy or overreacting. I cannot wait until my lease is up so I can move out of this sorry excuse of a complex!!! "If this is what you’re looking for in apartment management: 1) Breaching the lease agreement with multiple rent/utility increases within one year. The excuse being that certain aspects of my lease agreement that protect me as a tenant are now null and void because new ownership/property management has taken over. 2) A skeleton maintenance crew that might take more than a month to respond to issues such as water raining from the ceiling, possible mold issues, plumbing problems, etc. They can’t keep a steady maintenance crew, and the only way to get anything done is to physically go to the office and speak to a “manager”. Don’t bother with voicemail or email - they won’t respond. Still waiting over a month for them to fix the running kitchen sink faucet, and the leak under the bathroom sink. 3) Amenities being out of order for months on end. Fitness center was out of order for several months due to “complete renovations”, only to be reopened (without the much needed renovations) with hours now limited to 10am-5pm M-F. The swimming pools were supposed open on Memorial Day weekend - we’re now two weeks past, and the pools are not open. Management sends email to all tenants threatening to “send violators to the attorneys” if you’re caught in the pool. My guess is that it would be children trespassing into the unopened pool. 4) Package room lock boxes always going down. Technical issues might cause your Amazon packages to be inaccessible for a couple weeks. Management informs you that it’s out of order when they send an email threatening to donate your packages to charity if you don’t pick them up from the office immediately. 5) Incompetent trash valet (which I’m now being double-charged for). You never know when they’re coming, and trash starts piling up all around the apartment complex leaving it for dogs/animals to tear apart and strewn about the parking lots. Management will then send out a condescending email with the tact of a 3rd grader asking everyone to take their own trash to the only dumpster on the property that serves hundreds of units. Where’s the dumpster? Oh, it’s hidden under the mountain of trash! See included picture. 6) Vandalism to your car, potentially due to the fact that the security gates don’t work. I’ve had my new car vandalized twice. A van was recently chopped and left sitting on cinder blocks in the parking lot. 7) Mailboxes that are falling apart/can’t be locked. I’m not sure how many times I’ve had to pick my mail up off the ground. 8) Brown recluse spiders. I kill a brown recluse spiders inside my apartment almost every day. I recently bought a salt gun with a laser sight, so now I’m finally having some fun with the spiders. 9) It’s been one year since I moved out of Avana and I just now got a notice from a collection agency for $96 for back rent which they claim I owe. I paid my rent on time every time and was moved out by the move out date. If all of this sounds good, you can move into my old unit. Clearly, all they care about is getting what they want from you without giving you what you pay for."
"I drove all the way down from Massachusetts and I walk right into the office and offered loads of candy, an apartment upgrade and some nice furniture cant ask for a smoother move! Thanks to John and Laura! John gave a great lease experience as well as tell me what is great around town and Laura is such a bubbly bright woman!"
