"Update: It has been a year since move-in and there have been issues but Cathy and the maintenance team are very quick to respond and take care of anything. The fire alarm does go off constantly at all hours due to others smoking in the building which is quite stressful. You never know if you should actually evacuate or not but it doesn't usually go off very long. Moved in last month and so far it has been a great experience. Cathy the manager is very friendly and helpful! She is so sweet! There have been a few repairs needed but maintenance has fixed all the issues and are all really nice. The Fox does take a lot of parking spots when there are shows but there is still space for residents."
"If I could rate this establishment 0 stars I would. If your thinking of moving into this place DON'T this is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. To start they occupy mostly ALL of the parking lot almost everyday with VA visitors and The Fabulous Fox visitors.. yes you pay for a parking spot that you will most likely NOT have. They do not tell you this information when you sign your lease you find out by surprise. Another major issue that they do not tell you before you sign your lease is that every single day the fire alarm (with flashing lights) goes off DAY and NIGHT it does not matter the time or day of the week. Management is poor and your packages are not secure at all (there has been many complaints of missing packages) all of your personal packages are thrown into a room where anyone can access them. And not to mention none of the access codes on the entry doors work for your visitors, 2nd level door is ALWAYS broken so anyone can enter and I often see homeless people sleeping in the lobby overnight!!!! So if you don't mind any of these issues feel free to sign your lease but I would think twice :)"
"Awesome building and management, awesome location! This is the most walkable building! Close to the CWE, close to everywhere! The art deco building with the thoughtful and delightful touches (crown molding in my apartment, walls of windows) is a wonderful place to lay your head. The building staff are so friendly and VERY responsive. I love living living here!"
"I remember the first day i walked into the beautiful lobby of The Continental life building and realized just how much character and beauty this building has. Old school building with luxurious renovations and extremely good community. But to get an awesome place to live you need an amazing staff and with Continental you get just that. Bridget and all the managerial as well as the custodial staff are high class professionals and are always polite. Will forever recommend to anyone in St.Louis."
"The Continental Life Building is unquestionably the best option for student housing around SLU's campus. Not only is the building located close to campus, but it's incredibly affordable and offers spacious, well-equipped units. The building has a fantastic pool area as well as an under-rated gym. The building is a little dated; however, it gives the rooms, hallways, elevators, and lobbies character and personality. The maintenance team is skilled and can fix most issues if need be. The leasing office led by Bridget Dolbeare is incredibly helpful, fast-acting, and kind. Bridget makes the apartment shopping process easy to understand especially for students who may be in the market for the first time. The building has an amazing sense of community with its mixture of student and non-student residents. Overall, the Continental Life Building caters all that you could possibly need and some in a college apartment. It really does become a home away from home and a place to make memories that will last a lifetime. I'm sad for all of the negative reviews on this thread for they never had the opportunity to enjoy this building."
