Riverside Terrace

"Terrible experience that I will not ever forget! I lived at Riverside from 2019-2021 and never had one problem until they became section 8 apartments and new management came in. Her name is Judith, she took over as landlord, she didn't like me for some reason and was determined to evict me and my family out of the newly renovated apartments. She would walk in without warning and do random inspections, nothing I did to make sure the apartment looked nice was good enough for her. Judith was banging on my door one day and when I answered, she said she was going to do yet another inspection without notice. I asked her to give me 5 minutes to get dressed and she said no so I then shut the door and ran upstairs to get my pants on because I had been sleeping. She came inside anyway and came right up the stairs without saying anything. I hadn't even had time to get dressed. She saw me standing there half-naked and with disgust, said she was going to evict me for it, and walked out. That was the main reason she evicted me. Because I didn't have enough time to get dressed when she wouldn't give me a few minutes to do so. It was an invasion of my privacy and completely unfair. The next month, I was a few days late on rent and she put an eviction notice on my door, in the past, more than once, if I paid the rent amount in full, they would stop the eviction, oh how wrong I was this time. I paid the rent amount immediately and thought they had stopped going through with the eviction but Judith didn't drop it. So I ended up missing my court date because I thought it was dismissed and I won't make that mistake ever again. I was evicted because I didn't show up, Judith knew this would happen and was counting on it. After the court date, I received an eviction notice on my door stating that I had 24 hours to get out. It was so hard on my family, she didn't care and wouldn't discuss it with me. She said, 'I told you I was going to evict you and I did'. So I paid over $600 on rent for nothing because later I received a bill in the mail for over $1700. It's now on my credit that I owe this amount. She put on there that it costs her $700 to repaint the unit. The other charges were completely bogus. She made it so I can't get help through NAHA until I pay that insane amount that she completely made up! I was treated unkindly and unfairly, certainly miss Karen and Shanika! They were magnificent landlords and treated everyone equally."

"These apts. are being refurbished with all new interiors & exteriors. So new refrigerators, appliances, stoves,etc... There is a playground in the back and a forest on the far side. It is quiet at night. It may be 3 miles away from downtown New Albany which seems to be buzzing with night life & maybe 2 miles away from the Lewis & Clark Boulevard Strip mall areas. McDonald's, Walgreen's, Kroger Grocery, SuperAmerica gas station, & Harvest House Health store(vitamins & more) are all nearby."
