"Very beautiful lobby. Rooms are pretty spacious for NYC. Some rooms have an odd layout, but guest services adjusted. There’s plenty of space to work in the lobby and a large bar area. This location is next door to Serafina Italian food which is nice, but would be even better if the hotel had it’s own room service of some sort. Still a great stay."
"Certainly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The attention to detail, cleanliness, and the incredibly beautiful view from my room were unmatched. Since we arrived, we felt welcomed, receiving helpful tips for exploring the city, navigating the metro, and delightful restaurant recommendations. The highlight was that my boyfriend proposed during this trip, and upon learning about it, the hotel staff was so kind and thoughtful that they sent a congratulatory letter with chocolates and champagne to our room. A journey I'll never forget... can't wait to go back!"
"Definitely not a 4 star hotel. The staff go out of their way to make sure you're informed that everything you ask for has an additional fee. We arrived a bit early and were hoping to check in so we can start our afternoon trek through the city. We were 2.5 hours early and the check in desk told us that our room was not ready and we can't change our pre selected room and even if they could change it, we would be charged an additional fee for checking in earlier than 3 pm. I have been to SEVERAL hotels worldwide and have never experienced this. The pillows in the rooms are absolutely terrible. Nothing luxurious about them at all. The shower has a half wall so water sprays all over the side of the shower and on the floor making a great trip hazard. The shower also seems to have been designed for someone less than 5 feet tall. The 'premium' city view we paid EXTRA for might as well been a cruise ship window. If you tilt your head from the side of the window you can enjoy your 'Premium City View". What a joke. Also, hold your breath when you enter and exit the lobby. Otherwise you'll get a headache from the cheap perfume odor they use as an air 'freshener'."
"My friend and I stayed here for a short weekend and it was perfect. The location was right where we wanted to be and it was very close to Grand Central Station, which we used to arrive from JFK. The hotel was warm and had a very high-end feel. We also loved that it was decorated for Christmas. Our room was very lovely. While small, it was everything that we needed and the in-room amenities were nice. The room was power-efficient in that you had to use your room key in a slot to obtain electric. My only gripe about the room was a leak coming from the shower after use (Room 415) which left the floor soaked (I forgot to bring this up to the front desk during the stay). As far as staff goes, I want to give special shout-outs to Christina at the front desk and Phillip at the bar. Christina is one of the friendliest hotel employees I have ever met and she made check-in and check out not just a breeze, but a cheerful experience. I know that if we had happened to have an issue during our stay, Christina would have handled it professionally and with a smile. Phillip was also a gem. He was a friendly and engaging bartender who was also fast and skilled. He kept our drinks full and he made sure to keep our hungry stomachs happy with bar chips and popcorn. Bonus shout-out to the bellhop, Eric, for being so nice and helpful, too. Overall, please stay here. This was my fourth time to NYC and the NH Collection was my favorite hotel of all of my trips."
"We stayed at the NH Hotel as a couple after Thanksgiving. Both the location in the heart of Manhattan and the hotel itself were very good. The hotel is just a stone's throw away from 5th Ave. and Central Station, so all destinations are easily accessible. The rooms are modern, the bed is large and comfortable and the bathroom is also very spacious, the entire hotel is very well maintained and the staff was always friendly and helpful. The hotel shone in great splendour in the run-up to Christmas and had beautifully decorated Christmas trees and lobby. From Monday to Thursday there was live music in the evenings, which we really enjoyed. A big thank you to Dennis, the piano player. The adjoining restaurant, which we used for breakfast, was also very good and the price-performance ratio was good. The Guest Relation Manager Mr. Jones and his team deserve special thanks as they were always helpful with great tips and took great care of us. They made our stay unforgettable. We`ll come back for sure."
