Reviews of Hotel and the City
"The front desk assistant is very nice and friendly! And the people that provide service here are very polite, friendly, and made people feel welcome! They also follows strict rules, in order to help guests! And if I will pick the Hotel next time, I will still pick here!"
"The rooms were small, but very clean. The hallway smelled like a fish market, but no issues with the rooms. I have the service a 1 star because there was only one time I saw anyone at reception, and no one available to take our keys at check out. The location was decent, close to all main attractions and subways."
"Amazing location, extremely central to most destinations/ subways etc. I was regularly updated by the hotel with check ins/ payments good communication etc. My only downfall is the rooms. The hotel floor does smell quite bad. I wish I’d had paid extra for a nicer room at another hotel. The beds are quite outdated they’re metal. The bathroom - I just didn’t feel clean at all whenever I showered. They’re similar to prison looking showers with really old fashioned shower curtains with rails. The bathroom is the tiniest thing in the world I’m not sure how they even made it a bathroom to be honest. I think this hotel made me realise I like a nice hotel minimum 4*. If you’re not fussed about having a nice-ish hotel then this is probably the place for you"
"DO NOT and I mean DO NOT STAY HERE. I’ve had many great experiences here in the past but my recent stay and unfortunate continuous interaction with has been absolutely disgusting, disrespectful, and despicable. I was pre-charged an additional $200 for an extra nights stay, no big deal, until I got there on the agreed and PAID FOR date just to be turned away with no room, THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR, and told to return the following day and that night would be refunded. Leaving me at almost midnight after 7hrs of driving to find a new place to stay for the night(it was a holiday weekend at that and most places had no availability). Next day finally got my room only to have another guest be given a key to my room to check in and freely walk in while I was half indecent. The guest was nice and apologetic about the mix up(only considerate interaction I had here the whole stay). Just to now almost 3 weeks later get no response, no apology, no refund for a room I never got to stay in because I was turned away. TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE by far the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. NEVER WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE THEYLL JUST STEAL IT FROM YOU AND GIVE YOU ONE OF YOUR WORST VACATION EXPERIENCES EVER. NY, PA, WV, VA, AL, TN, LA, TX, NM, AR, and ÇA are states I’ve been in since staying here and even the lowest end hotel in one of the not so great areas of town that was stayed in was 10x better in every way, especially customer service, than this place. There are so many hotels in New York, every single one of them is better than this place and even if they cost a little more, will still end up being cheaper than the amount this place will end up stealing from you."
"Perfect location. Can walk to almost anything and can certainly get the subway from nearby or one of the tour buses. Small but big enough. Clean and tidy. Helpful staff. Small kitchenette and fridge for snacks. Warm enough in winter. Noisy heating system and thin walls to the hallways only downside - but the apartment was quiet enough at night. We’d stay again for sure and felt it was reasonably priced. Good deli’s and breakfast nearby."
