Park Central Hotel New York

"Terrible hotel. Only one elevator working the whole time I was there. My room had no heat. It didn't work, it didn't even come on. It's February. I was freezing. Space heater helped some, but still uncomfortable. Non stop construction noise, all day and night long. I try to roll with things, but this was a miserable stay. Front desk does not answer the phone as well. Good luck getting assistance. The shower though, was really good. Instant hot water, consistent temp. That was a nice surprise."

"Hotels location is very good, it's like a minute walk to the central park and about 10 minute walk to the times square. Subway stations are very close to the hotel. Breakfast is typical American breakfast. I must say that the staff could be kinder. Service takes hours and a few more phone calls so they can bring a kettle to your room. There are no amenities in the room except shampoo and a soap. Worst part of the hotel is most probably the elevators. There are 4 of them and it takes at least 10 minutes to get one if you are lucky during the rush hours.Rooms are old fashioned. But after all hotel serves to its purpose if you are there for touristic purpose."

"Only one elevator was serving floors 1-18, which made for a chaotic experience. Additionally, the heating did not work in our room. When we called to complain, an electric heater was provided, but this was not powerful enough to heat the whole room. Lastly, we found some stains on the bedsheets. Having said that, the location was great. However, I expected better from a 4 star hotel."

"Great location. Lots to eat around the hotel and just a short walk to time square. Our tv, phone, and main lamp in the room were not working. We were there for only 2 nights and didn’t spend much time in our room so we didn’t feel it necessary to ask to swap rooms. We did get charged with a smoking fee in our room for almost $600 although none of us in the room are smokers of any kind.The First Lady we talked about the issue with was extremely rude and was not willing to work with us about the fees. She showed us when the detectors in our room “detected smoke” & it was at a time when we were not even at the hotel. When asking them to look at their cameras to see what time we walked in the hotel (we knew almost to the minute we arrived back) she claimed they didn’t work. We finally asked to speak to someone else. Emanuel was beyond helpful!! He listened to us patiently while we made our complaints and was extremely accommodating, understanding and willing to work with us. He was kind and easy to talk to. If you so stay here I would ask for him for anything you need."

"Lots of reviews complaining about the elevators seem to be overblown - the most we waited for elevators was 3-4 minutes, and only at check-out time on a Sunday. Very centrally located, clean, safe, just lacking a little bit of attention to detail in the rooms (some damage, felt a little dated, chips on doors, etc.) but nothing major. They stored our baggage for free before check-in as well as after check-out, which was very helpful.. and all staff interactions were top notch. Highly recommend!"
