Flats on 5th Apartments

"I don't know where to start as a tenant. What happened to the manager and maintenance. I had a maintenance emergency a week ago that I promptly reported as stated in the message. No one returned my phone call. A week later I have had to reset the breaker switch because the heat keeps kicking off. You hoo manager are you here? Now about the broken doors that are to be secure and lock immediately behind you. This is thanks to people living here illegally without a lease. So they have to break the locks on all 10 of the buildings doors. I have made numerous requests to fix the locks. It's been almost a year. Solution is to get rid of them and change the locks and get the security hired and cameras inside and outside of each door. And the condition of the inside and outside of the buildings are bad. Housekeeping does a very bad job. A five year old could do so much better. And the pitbulls poop inside the buildings and on sidewalks. Cameras will fix this as it's a violation of the city ordinance not to pick up your dogs poop and properly dispose of it. The piles of poop under my window needs to be gone for good now Now about my lease. It expires on the last day of April. Have not received any correspondence in regards to my lease. Think I have covered everything. Hopefully this is enough to turn prospective tenants away. But the apartments are great on the inside and I can't give it up for an apartment that is affordable without assistance"

"Doors are always broken homeless people come in and walk around and sleep in the halls they have not even cleaned the snow cars are getting stuck in the parking lot tenant don’t pick up their dog poop there’s poop in the hallways management takes forever to send someone out to fix something apartment always smell like cigarettes or weed Kids are left unattended and they mess around in the building knocking on doors leaving trash in the halls . Hallways are so dirty I’ve seen toothbrushes underwear and dog poop in the halls and they stay there for a good 2 weeks"

"This place is horrible do not move here. It’s not a safe environment. Way too many dogs, none of the tenants pick up after their dogs. Dog poop everywhere on the property. I believe the on-site staff tries their best however most of the tenants do not value the property. The units are nice but are being run down. Security doors are constantly being broken. Trash and dog poop are always in the hallways. There is a weekly cleaning crew but immediately after they clean the hallways go back to filth. It’s supposed to be a non smoking living space however it smells like weed in every building. Vehicles get broken in to. Robberies and assaults have taken place. A lot of children are outside unsupervised all hours of the evening. It’s horrible. My lease is just a month shy of being up and I’m running for the hills. This place is completely ghetto. It’s not worth the money. No security, no cameras in the hallways. If you want a safe, friendly, clean, and well managed living environment this isn’t it. I don’t believe this is going to change anytime soon. Ofcourse it’s an income restricted property so not too much thought or care is going to be put into the safety of it. It’s just a money grab."

"I loved the girls from day one. Personable and very knowable. Made me feel welcomed. Especially Stacey. She knows all the deminsions of her knowledge of a manager for flats. Maintains guys are very knowledgeable and has helped me. Said they were sorry the apartment wasn't finished from who started. I said thank you for caring. Came in fixed some important things. I'm very happy to call this home. Kimberly Hussman"

"We're moving to the area and we stopped by the office to see if there was someone who could show us an available unit. We crossed paths with 3 different people in the office but no one would acknowledge we needed help. After several attempts to get someone's attention we noticed a sign that stated that all showings were by appointment that day. Flats on 5th have been taken off our list of consideration. We stopped by several other apartment complexes while in town that day and was helped despite those offices being closed. We felt it was very telling of what we could expect from the management."
