Cozy Rest Motel

"****My first and biggest complaint is that I was charged a $50 deposit that has not been credited back to me. I did not damage the room or cause any reason for not getting my deposit back. The room was $80 plus a $50 deposit. It cleared my bank one day after checking out. It's been two days and no $50 credit.**** * Now about the room * *I requested an upstairs room in the other building, but was told the single story units had to be rented first. *Wi-fi is available. *Expect a noisy night from cars passing by. *No black out curtains. The light outside my room filtered through the curtains. I had to sleep on my side all night. I'm used to a dark room. *The room needs new table and chairs. The office chair is missing pieces of vinyl, the other chair is dirty, and the table is peeling. *No place to put your luggage. I used the side table. *No outlet in the bathroom. It's outside the door. It has a pedestal sink, but there is a shelf under the mirror. *Room is updated with paint and tile, but three of the walls were scraped. *No mini fridge, microwave, or coffee brewer, but there is an ice machine outside. *No channel guide provided for the tv. You have to click through each channel. The remote is basic. Inconvenient but manageable. *The pictures on their website must be for the two story building because my room didn't look as nice. - *This is a basic motel, but I expected better from the pictures. I will not be staying here again. Yes, my standards may be too high for this motel. *Before you decide to stay here, remember my first big complaint. It could happen to you."

"I stayed here on 6/9 and it was worth it! The owner was at the front desk and super kind and in the morning I saw him stripping beds of rooms that have checked out before we had. That to me speaks volumes on his pride for this place. The rooms are decently sized and the fact they leave a a prepackaged toothbrush w/ toothpaste in the bathroom was a great touch for travelers that may need it! The bathrooms are updated and beautiful. The rooms are standard but comfortable, located in a great spot that is just 7 mins from Des Moines city center. For the price its definitely worth a night stay"

"To be honest, when my boyfriend booked this place I was not expecting much but this was a really nice hotel, felt clean and safe. Very updated and a really nice quality for the affordable price! Also there's a really good Italian restaurant within a 5 minute walk so you can pick up some pizza easily!"

"For the price, location, and cleanliness this option was fantastic. Room amenities looked newer. Obviously don’t expect a high end hotel and the outside is misleading but great for the price!"
