"I surprised my wife with a trip to Hotel Galena for her birthday. We stayed in room #9 where we were delighted to indulge in some rest and relaxation while soaking in a large whirlpool tub and lounging in front of a radiant fireplace. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room was quaint, spacious, and clean. Nate and his staff were so gracious with hospitality and welcoming charm. Thank you for such a great first time visit. We’ll definitely be back."

"My husband and I had been talking about making a first visit to Galena for years. After browsing through some of the wonderfully historic and quaint places to stay (we wanted to avoid commercial locations) we found that Hotel Galena and Riverboat Suites was ideal for the type of stay we were looking for. This wonderful inn exceeded our expectations. It nearly didn’t feel like we were even staying in a hotel it was so comfortable. We stayed in suite 10 which was spacious and had a lot of natural light including a skylight. There are a few extras in the room accommodations than what can often be found in very traditional B&B’s as far as comfort, tech and space while still heavily maintaining the historic charm of the original building. The bed was very comfortable and the various lighting options throughout the room allowed for easy change of ambiance. The room also had a fireplace, a large claw tub in the bathroom along with a beautiful opaque stained glass door and window in the bathroom. A large bay window faced the street in the main room with a seating area. There was also a loft with another bed that can accommodate an additional 2 people. The newer owner is very passionate about maintaining the 2 buildings that comprise this hotel and is very knowledgeable about its history as well as Galena history in general. If you have questions he is more than willing to spend time educating or just enjoying conversation with his guests. The self-serve breakfast area is easy to access and has a lot of great continental options for any palate. The hotel is right around the corner from Main Street making it easy to both walk or drive to shopping, restaurants and some of the historic attractions. Overall I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely return for another visit."

"We rented suite #8, and it exceeded our expectations. The gas fireplace and jacuzzi tub were a nice touch, and the mattress was very comfortable. They did an amazing job with the new renovations! Also, there's a public hot tub at the property which was a surprise. Nate, the owner, was very attentive and friendly. We were thinking about moving to Galena and starting a business. Nate took a good amount of time out of his day to talk about living in the town and owning a business here. We had a fantastic experience, and would definitely stay here again!"

"Outstanding rooms, service, breakfast, location, and host. Our room was spacious and immaculate; it featured a very comfortable bed, a gas fireplace that put out considerable warmth, and a jetted tub inside a large bathroom with two sinks. There was also a very cool spiral staircase leading to another sleeping area. The breakfast room had a lot of food; we enjoyed English muffins, chocolate chip muffins, Simply Orange juice, and more. There was also a hot tub on the property and some very cool features such as multiple gargoyle statues. The entire property was very clean and well-maintained, and it was walking distance from the shops in Galena as well as the Galena River and its walking/cycling trail. The owner, Nate, was present and graciously told us about the history of the property and Galena itself. Nate truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, suggesting a local trail where we could enjoy a stunning view of the area and even connecting us with a friend who gave us a tour of a beautiful mansion up the hill. I don't know how our stay could have possibly been any better, and I highly recommend booking a room here!"

"The room that we shared was beautiful and included a gas fireplace. It was 5 minutes away from downtown shopping and restaurants. Nate was a terrific host and did his very best to make certain that we were comfortable. The breakfast area was located close to our room and was just like home. Coffee was good and abundant. We would stay there again on our next trip to Galena."
