"It was only ever my second time skiing/boarding and it was a great experience. They charge 5 bucks to change from boarding to skiing and vice versa which is more than fair. The slopes were great but the weather was too warm this season so the snow got a little slushy. Looking forward to coming back next season."
"Great little spot, for a weekend getaway. rates were reasonable! The 15 minute jaunt to downtown Galena was convenient. Could definitely use some updating inside. I’d be willing to pay 25% more for a room that was updated."
"Visited on opening day, and I must say, the staff did an incredible job handling the number of people in the restaurant/tavern during the lunch rush. My wife and I stopped just for a quick bite and a couple of drinks, and were seated immediately and tended to well."
"Snow Hill and restaurant was absolutely amazing but walk into the lodge/hotel and things go downhill quickly! Extremely rude staff with attitudes no one smiled everyone was mean mugging the customers. I called to ask about the WI-FI and the front desk lady gave me an ear full. At 11am they’re calling me saying we need to be out of the room by 12 or they’re charging us. The cleaning ladies made so much noise cleaning all morning it literally sounded like a herd of elephants running up and down the halls and in the rooms. Save your money and stay up the road at a Best Western."
"We didn't stay at the Chestnut Mountain Resort but we wanted to do something fun while we were at Galena and after doing some research online, we've decided to stop by for a while and ended up playing for hours! Weather was perfect for some miniature golf for $5 a person and we spent about a couple hours laughing and enjoying the nice day. Then we walked around the resort and took some pictures. At last we did the Alpine Slide for $15 a person and took the little ski lift back enjoying the view. It was a great experience and we all had a fantastic day!"
