"We moved to Sunnymede in May and this rating is based our experience (we were speaking primarily to Derricka up until a few months ago) -The leasing process was very rushed, often threatening to give us only a few hours to fill out paperwork otherwise they will give it to another person. -They would not allow us to see the apartment until day of move in. There were ants everywhere, paint stains on the carpet, the bathrooms were not clean, sockets were painted over, and appliances were coming out from the walls. It was obviously not cleaned and only painted. Pictures were taken by us and Derricka. -This move in delay cost us hundreds of dollars for the uhaul and movers and Derricka and the property manager refused to refund us or give us anything, even going as far as yelling at me over the phone for a five dollar discrepancy that we owed them. They did fix most of the issues but only my fiancee got an apology. Having worked in customer service my whole life, this was appalling. -It was told to me that this was a fairly new company owning these apartments and we could tell by lack of organization, communication, and staffing. They have since changed companies again. -The pool was opened later than what was said, as was the gym. The treadmill almost never works. -In our personal opinion more expensive than the quality of the apartments and customer service issues. They've had to replace so many things after we got here. -There's no lighting in living room and bedrooms. Only bathroom, kitchen and dining room. However, having said all that there are definitely some pros. -The outside grounds are kept up pretty well. - Decent area, close to freeways and wonderful restaurants. - Mike in maintenance is awesome and trustworthy, usually prompt with attempting at fixing things. Some things just never get fixed because he isn't given certain resources. He does have help now though, which is nice. -Noise is usually minimal to a degree because of the thick walls and spacing of the apartments. -Even having it's consistent issues, the pool and gym are a nice bonus. -Balconies are nice. -Laundry facilities in our building is clean and newer washer/dryer. All in all I don't think we will renew, but we will see how it goes with this new company."

"Me and my wife got married young and moved here September of ‘23. When we first arrived the management had a very rude lady as the leasing agent but she was fired soon after moving us in. Since we have moved in however we have had issues with the new and current management and more specifically the property manager, Tiffany. Tiffany has made us many promises and few were kept. The first day we moved in we were supposed to have a new dryer and washer. That’s what was told to us by the previous leasing agent and on our walkthrough day Tiffany reiterated the fact that she would have a brand new washer and dryer within a week of us moving in. My wife and I are reasonable people and gave her 2 1/2 weeks but not one call or update…. We didn’t get our washer until last month and we still don’t have our dryer. Told the office I had been paying to wash and dry my clothes my whole lease so far even though I’m supposed to have a functioning one in my unit. In the midst of waiting for my appliances that I still haven’t received, my heat went out in y unit with my 2 yr old nephew staying with us. Forcing us to buy a hotel room and live away from our home for 8 days. I go to get things rectified in a respectful way by asking what could we do concessions wise and I was met with rude and disrespectful remarks and a nonchalant attitude by Tiffany. I am a real estate agent w/ Keller Williams and never once in my time there have I ever ARGUED w a tenant and/or client, that day Tiffany argued with me my wife and my mother on the phone telling us that the “promises” she made practically never came out her mouth and tried to put it all on the maintenance man MIKE(who takes care of us , WE LOVE MIKE) then told us she was going to give us $100 for us being without heat for 8 days! This was a huge ordeal and we actually had to reach out to corporate to get anything to happen. After reaching out to corporate, Tiffany dropped the attitude and said her boss gave us half the rent off the next month, our DTE bill paid(the maintenance man MIKE gave us a heater and accidentally it killed all of our electricity in our unit as well), $100 credit. We were happy with this and it took them a while to fix everything but eventually things were better until it was time for the DTE bill. I sent them a copy and was told the bill was “taken care of and I should be good”. Yet we just had to pay our own bill last week because they thought that “ corporate was going to handle it”. I have called numerous times since the big ordeal with the heat Just to receive my dryer. I probably have called 100 times within the 4 months we have lived here and each time I get the same response “it is on its way we had to ship it from the manufacturer so it will take a little longer”. We can’t even dry our clothes. I just want my dryer. On top of all of this stuff has being absolutely falling apart in this unit. Wall paint cracks, bathroom door off hinges, garbage disposal, closet doors, furnace, etc. My wife and I are young, cool-headed, and stay to ourselves. Honestly if throughout our stay people were more cooperative instead of giving us half answers to put us off, we honestly would’ve never had an issue. Like we could have went the entirety of the lease without really even speaking to the office because that’s just how we are. If everything all good then we good and we just pay rent and live happy, if something were to mess up it is an expectation for it to be fixed bc of the fact we are paying rent and so on. We just really had back to back bad experiences with Sunnymede. Where they could have been in the favor of their tenant and have our best interest at heart but didn’t. I know in the real estate field that is big, no one wants to work with the RE agent that is in it to make their money and not make their clients happy."

"Super nice people in the office and on the maintenance team. Nicer apartments than I expected considering I rented it sight unseen. The only downside of my apartment is that the washer/dryer isn’t in unit, and my commute is a little longer. I think they do have units with washer/dryer in unit. I’ll probably get one of those when I come up for renewal."

"I loved living at this apartment complex. I never had an issue with the prior manager. Ed was always fantastic and the nicest guy. I moved out in July and the current manager was great in responding to my need for rental history to apply for a new home. As of today however, it had been 56 days since I moved out and I have yet to receive my deposit funds in excess of $1800. I have asked the current manager multiple times for updates. Todays response of being too busy and will “try to get to checking on the status” left me beyond frustrated. I have received a statement letting me know I am getting my full deposit back. I have sent multiple emails and left messages for the property management company Pepper Pike and as of today still have no resolve. I assume my only recourse at this time is to file a claim with small claims court to get my money back. I’m very disappointed by this outcome and hope no other resident has to experience this."
